Get back in the warm pool

Hi there!  I was asked to guest post over at Distinctly Desiree today, and so I did.  SERIOUSLY, I had no idea that guest blogging would be so difficult for me!  I felt like I was completely out of my element!  Its like now I am back here in my warm pool of comfort and it all feels soft and reassuring and cozy and safe.  I feel like an absolute nincompoop (that word is actually not even coming up misspelled! SEE!  Even my made up words are real here!!) Wow.  I feel like a total moron for not being able to complete a simple task of just blogging somewhere else.  I mean I DID technically blog for her, but I feel like I should have been. . . more philosophical, or more, like wise, or smart, or cool or more whatever, but I am not any of those things.  I am just a person that types what comes into my head.  Compulsively. Yes, I just thought that word and typed it just like it says.  I guess I just feel bad that I couldn't just get over myself and do a proper post for such a sweet gal.  Desiree is a good mom and a cool genuine girl, super cute with great style.  She is from Texas and actually kind of reminds me of Sookie from True Blood.  Here are some pics of her:
SUPER CUTE RIGHT!  You can just see her reading your thoughts can't you.  Well, If she reads mine they will look a lot like the words on the page.  At least I am honest.  If you feel so inclined to read my nonsense over there you can, however, I suggest you just skip to her regularly scheduled program to meet a seriously cute, mind reading (well, this is not confirmed), stylish Texan in her own element.

Way more photos of my outfit here and more importantly, more pictures of the lovely Desiree.

So, there have been problems commenting? Check. check. Sorry if you have trouble. I will not take it personally, ever, I promise. Comments are super nice and so SOOO appreciated, but I want you to know that if you are ever unable to leave one, or just really don't feel like it (totally completely OK) I will never take that shit personally. I assume you come her for your own reasons. It doesn't matter what they are really. Its just so nice that you even come. And if you ever become disinterested in me or what I am doing, I am sure you will stop coming here. Thats Ok too. Its an at will internet. In the mean time, just know that your presence is noted and appreciated, regardless of your comments (Which are cherished and read several times. I am not going to lie, I freaking love them but until I can be a more thorough replier and commenter, there can never be any expectation on my part WHATSOEVER) Anything you decide to leave me here is seriously proof that people are really really good inside and just like to share that goodness when they feel moved to do so. So thank you. Very very much for your efforts.}

Yup. That's pretty much how a guest post by me would look as well. If nothing else, know that at least one other insane person out there read that and could completely relate to it. Oddly, on a job interview or a first date (which both feel like the same to me, really) I tend to just sit there in shell-shocked silence. Yeesh, Who's rambling now?!

SOOOO I tried commenting twice already but it kept giving me error messages so I was gonna lose it and gave up.
But since I saw your comment on my guest post for Merl, I feel IHAVE to comment on this. I read your guest post and I think you are worrying for nothing! She obviously loves your no nonsense, raw way of writting that you do on your blog which is why she wanted you to guest post. I think your guest post just needs to show who you really are. Which is what you did, despite the fact that you were nervous and didnt know what to write about, I think it was very Christina. You didn't play it cool and try to be all "whatever I guest post all the time" and sound like a completely different person. [this was my first guest post too and I just tried to make it sound like me... with a hint of Merl.]
You did a good job missy and I'm sure you've gained a bunch more stalkers on the way! :)
hope this helped! (and this comment better save OR ELSE!)
update: it didnt, but i copy pasted. take that blogger. here we go again. fingers crossed, maybe if i sign in with my gmail instead of wordpress.

It's understandable that you wouldn't feel completely comfortable on someone else's blog, it's a different audience. Kind of like how you could probably speak in front of your classmates in high school but thrown in front of a group of strangers the same words wouldn't come out as "right"...or in my case at all (extreme stage fright).

Love your blog and style! I also have those Lucky shoes. Do you find that the strap has a tendency to slip off while you are walking?

Guest blogging? I'm impressed, I have enough trouble thinking of interesting things to say on my own blog! Well done.

Cute outfit too xx

Oh, I've checked that post of yours, and I mean, it was totally you, and that should be what's expected no? Everyone can be nervous! Don't worry :D I remember those shorts, they remind my own gray shorts that I haven't worn since winter... Maybe I check them in these days, cause I can't find anything to wear lately... You look very beautiful! And I'm sure you'll be a great guest blogger very soon :)

Aww...I read your post. I like it. It's sincere. Maybe I'm a little cheesy but I think editing things takes away the realness. I have claps for you: [Clapclapclap!]

I'll be honest. I've been a little lazy in the commenting department, but I'm just so tired and having to come up with things to say that aren't just, "I love your blouse!" are time consuming and mind suckers...hehehe...but I'll leave a comment for you, just because I think I get you. And your blog is fantastic :-)

Shorts!! I love them. So looking forward to getting to Texas and hot weather in a couple of weeks. Here in New Zealand it is freezing and damp and mouldy and I feel like I am living inside a really old piece of soggy cheese.

I like the pattern on the shoes and how it contrasts with the purse.

You are so awesome! I wish I could be more like you and just pop out what's in my head! I edit, re-think and censor my own darn blog!!! I am such a people pleaser, and when I loose a follower or get a crummy comment, it really hurts my feelings. I guess I'm quickly getting tired of being a people pleaser :) Why am I telling you all this ? I suppose it's because you attract honesty . Or maybe because you attract other nincompoops ;)
Anyhoo, Thanks for your inspiration and now that I know you have the time to read these, and actuallu do, I feel more prone to comment. Alot of us newbies are like puppies with snausages when we get a couple comments. I'd die of I had as many as you do! My magic number so far is 12 :) Not trying to blow smoke, really. I always mean what I say in comments ;).
