So here is the preview of the Eclectic Country collection (Sorry Seval, I will do the city one after this, but needed to add a couple new things to it ;) I have noticed that this collection is a little short on clothes and coats so I will likely be adding a few dresses, capes and ponchos to round it out. I'll photograph them this weekend. I will also create a few outfits from this stuff and show you the new additions then (like I did for the first collection.) I"ll show those photos Monday morning. I plan to be listing it all on Monday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm pacific time. As usual, I will tweet the listings as they arrive in the shop. I hope you like this one!! I was temped to start with this one but decided it made more sense to do it the way I did.
Oh, and I know a few people commented before about wanting that first purse. I am sorry but to be completely fair to everyone, I am NOT going to accept reserves on new things before they are listed. I AM, however, still taking offers on the first collection (See here for details) and will reserve them with your newly negotiated price, so if you see reserves, that is why they are there. I hope you understand :)
All items above are vintage and will be available for sale at SecondSkinStyle a piece at a time on Monday, October 18 starting at 9:00 am pacific time. THANK YOU!!

sniff stuff
Everything in life is still gorgeous. You know what? It's going to continue to be. It always has been and it always will be. The only thing that changes is my perspective. I judge cold. I judge winter. Well, that is all going to change. Cold is gorgeous. Rain is gorgeous. It's all very very pretty and nice and wonderful. I apologize for my earlier doubt this week. I had a head change. This winter is going to be beautiful and fantastic. I will no longer complain. I see it all very differently now. Everything is going to be more than all right. It is all great in fact!
I think I might post the next collection preview today or tomorrow just in case you are interested. Which one do you think should be next: City Slick or Eclectic Country? I think Eclectic Country. More color. Great belts and purses. Crazy stuff. In any case, Have a very nice weekend. Sniff flowers and stuff.
dress: What did I tell you yesterday? Yup.
shawl: vintage thrifted
bolo, bracelets: vintage thirfted
belt: UO (my birthday gift to myself last year)
hat: UO
shoes: Old Navy

fringe benefits
This top/dress was another find at the hallowed antique vintage faire last Sunday. I think you can pretty much guarantee that every day I will be wearing something from that sale. This top came with a matching pair of pants. $5. . . no foolin. I am sorry if I look a little smug in that last photo, but after my massage and pedi yesterday, and while wearing this fringy frock, I feel like a million gajillion bucks. Happy too that my eyes are concealed by the shade of my brim, since I looked freaking high all day! Half closed, low eyebrows, sappy smile, chilled the frick OUT. Still chill as I write this. eating a string cheese. my bottle of water may as well be champagne. That is where I am right now folks. AND I slept in the sun for a little while. I am not going to deny that things could not get any better at this moment. Appreciate the highs when they come, and let the memory of them keep you warm in the lows. Stocking up on high right now. should get me through for a loooooong time. Starting to feel pretty sappy at the moment so I'll just go now and hope that this doesn't sound crazy at 6:00 tomorrow morning!

Solid GOLD
So Tuesday WAS so much better! I did get the rest of my etsy stuff done, then spent the whole afternoon with my mom. I hadn't spent time with her for a few weeks actually and she lives pretty close by, so that was really out of our normal routine of talking texting and seeing each other almost daily. We had lunch out and I helped her take photos for her etsy shop (these are actually earrings that I was supposed to photograph and belong in her shop but I stole them for a few days!!) I am also wearing a ring she gave to me for my early Christmas present. I LOVE amber, almost as much as I love Turquoise jewelry and this huge chunk is like pure gold as far as I am concerned. Fitted into this silver cage, it makes such a statement in my opinion. We found it together a few weeks ago at this HUGE big craft fair that happens once a year in my area. My sister came out and the three of us dressed up and went to it. So much fun!
Today I am full on pampering myself. I have not had a massage for like three years but I just happened to get a call from my girl last week, and after we caught up a bit I went ahead and scheduled one for today. THEN my pedi girl called and said she had an opening in the morning (coincidentally right before my massage!!) so I decided, you know what, what the freaking heck. Lets do it! So much pampering in one day!!!! I will be a ball of squishy goodness by 1:00 pm today!! It feels so nice to be touched! Don't you think? That my friends is called preemptive strikes against the summer time blues all right!! Paired with a bit of sun therapy and I am freaking set.
Dress: vintage again from that kick ass sale last weekend
Shoes: We Who See from Beacon's Closet when I was in New York last February (they seemed like a no brainer with this dress and when it gets chillier I think a pair of gray OTK socks will compliment nicely!)
silver bracelets: vintage thrifted
Ring: gift from momma, thank you momma!
Earrings: ArtNStone (my momma's shop she will be listing today if you are interested!) I never really wear earrings for some reason but I thought these were so cool and this outfit seemed pretty plain enough that they wouldn't detract.

fake junk
How was everyone's yesterday? Was it weirder or quieter or. . . bluer than usual? I have this theory that there are moods that can be contagious not only among people in close proximity, but also in community associations and I was just wondering if my weird feeling was a product of my own lack of sleep and hormones, or if generally this community was feeling a slight slump. In any case, I hope Tuesday is a bit brighter. I tend to fall into this weird melancholy hibernation from about this time until mid June each year and I pretty much REFUSE to let this happen this year. Yesterday I really felt it coming on. I ate gluten free AND sugar free Junk Food all day (Oxymoron right? But yes, it exists and no it is not worth it as it can hardly be called enjoyable, but there was nothing else in the house since I was too lazy to go to the store) and quit listing my things in the shop like half way through the day and just laid on the couch and moped. It was stupid. There were clouds out blocking the sun and shit, but, I mean it wasn't even THAT cold and I turned into a sniveling little crazy mole person. Last year I totally submitted to the mood, let it break my summer spirit and put me down, but last year. . . I didn't have any friends. I was just sort of isolated. . . a new blogger too. This year, I have no excuse. I have met so many people here and have a whole list of more people I want to get to know better. SO, I am going to continue to list today and get the rest of Crisp Nautical up, contact a hand full of people who have commented here that I have been really interested to establish a closer connection with, and lay in the sunlight for 15 minutes (even if I have to bundle in a blanket, I need my vitamin D gosh darnit!)
I am going to nip this thing in the bud. No melancholy weeds are allowed in my garden. And I will stop feeding them fake junk food.
Irish wool sweater, nut necklace and beret: vintage from that kick ass sale last Sunday
SILK SCARF!!! Gift from a very sweet girl!
Pants: AE
Dexter shoes: thrifted
Tee: Hanes or fruit of the loom or some such

Freaking Cool
Looks like I am not the only one who has been busy getting her butt in gear! The fabulous MERL of Clyde's Rebirth has just completed her fall lookbook (and it's freaking good) and is offering $100 store credit to one lucky blogger. I hope that blogger will be ME, but you are all very welcome to give it a shot, since according to the terms and conditions, I am supposed to share that information with you. . . Anyway, I all of the details can be found here and are super easy and open to international bloggers as well! I know!! Cool right!
Let it breathe
Squeezing out those last few drops of warm weather. Letting my skin breathe as much as possible before it will be hermetically sealed in by the layers and wool for the winter. ahhh. The weekend was glorious! In more ways than warmth actually! I went to this huuuuuge vintage antique sale Sunday and I feel like my efforts at letting go of my things has COMPLETELY paid off! The Vintage Karma Gods look favorably upon people who LET GO, and with that, I will be busily making available all the items from the last post, Crisp Nautical! AND, If you see anything that you really wanted from the Signature Collection that has not sold yet, make me an offer! I want to move this stuff as quickly as possible so each week, when the new collection gets listed if there is something left from the last that you like, let me know the price you would pay for it. In an ideal world I would price every item exactly at what someone would pay, but I am not clairvoyant. Convo me in Etsy and name your price!
I am sort of busting at the seams with excitement for my newly acquired gems and just want to do this fantasy photo shoot where I wear everything all at once and change my clothes a gazillion times and we have a pretend party where anything goes and we wear vintage kimonos and capes and fringe, and you are all invited, and you bring your favorite dress up things and masks and whatever and its a grand affair! Ya, that is how thrilled I am! In the mean time, the above photos show a romper I got at the sale that just happened to be perfect for this warm afternoon! Oh! And that necklace is made of sliced, petrified NUTS! Like walnuts or chestnuts or some such. Hee hee! See you at the party right?
Romper, necklace: vintage from best vintage sale I have ever seen ever.
Boots, hat: you know. Do these ever leave my body? Only to wash.
{EDIT: Oops! For some reason my comments section was disabled! Sorry! Didn't want you to think I had shut it off on purpose! I also fixed a few typos! I was very excited when I wrote this and completely exhausted so I am cringing today at my mistakes!)
