sunny disposition

This is what it looks like in the morning where I live.  The view from the front of my house is one that I rarely show here since the sun sets on those mountains and taking pictures in that direction would put me in silhouette. Right before sunrise, these mountains reflect bright pink in the winter time. Its worth waking up early for. It was also just about 36˚F this morning and the sun felt warm. Nice.

I have some early appointments this morning, but plan to post a bit more here this afternoon. A dear friend of mine called me yesterday and told me he had been reading along on my blog and had been trying to guess what my new focus was for my life. I didn't mean for it to be a guessing game!  I'll try to get right to it. . .  later.

Coat, shirt, boots: thrifted vintage
Skirt: H&M
Socks: J. Crew
Hat: marshalls or ross or someplace random

That view is breathtaking! I wish I could do my job somewhere remote, so I could move somewhere like that, but sadly I am kind of forced to stay near cities. So I dream of my retirement home...

i can't imagine seeing that outside my door every single day. it's beautiful, totally worth waking up for :) i wish we had mountains down here, but sadly we just have flat, boring terrain. and swamps.

on another note, i haven't been commenting lately, but i just wanted to say that i'm still here and i am really excited to find out what your new focus is! your readers love more than just your pretty pictures and great outfits :)

Christina, you live in Nebraska, right? That is my favorite state to drive through. Seriously. Something about that state makes me calm, reflective, and peaceful. I just love it.

As always, your outfit inspires me. I actually have an outfit post inspired by you coming up next week, hopefully.

WOW, this view is so gorgeous, I'm kind of speechless. That's a lie, I always have something to say. But, honestly I can't get over these mountains. It's such an interesting POV with you in front of them at this level.

I love this outfit, it's sort of preppy for you (which I love). And bare legs at 30 degrees - damn girl, you must be cold blooded! So intrigued to hear about your new focus, my dear. Have a lovely weekend!

xoxo, Ashley

Christina, you are looking better and better! What's your secret? You always have a glow.

You posted your beauty regimen once before. Have you updated it since then - and, if so, would you be willing to share? I'm interested not only in the products you use, but also in your exercise regimen and other things you do to keep feeling and looking healthy. You mentioned skin brushing - for some reason, I haven't gotten around to trying that yet.

P.S. My friend recently became a milliner, and I directed her to your site because you wear hats very well. If you have any suggestions on other sources for hat-buying and hat-wearing, I'd love to know about them.
P.P.S. The view around your home has such an invigorating beauty. You're very lucky.

Its so funny. Bloggging about personal style seems so superficial, especially when everyone's style and preferences is different.
But when i read about the things going on in life, so much of the time, and for some reason, specifically with your blog, I'm like, oh my goodness, we're so similar!
I went through, and still do, go through a phase where i have to make food things a bit new. I happened to add beet juice to tortolini...sigh.
And I'm not exactly sure what you're going through right now, but when you talked about the cycles of restlessness and changing....I have been there.
In fact, I am there right now.
A bit lost, not knowing what my life is going to be. I've gone to school, have multiple hobbies, possibly will go to fashion school...its disheartening.
So I'm really interested to see what you have to say. You might be on to something. ^_~
I'm glad that you're feeling so awesome!

I have to ask - are your boots early 80s Fryes? Becasue I think I have the exact same pair, and it always tickles me to see vintage duplicates.
