Awesome! Oh how I wish I could have raided that wall of jewelry! It couldn't have been easy to let go, both physically and emotionally, but you look so blissful now, I'm really happy for you. And i just can't tell you enough how much I truly love this blog!

Your bravery and willingness to share your pain, vulnerability, and process is admirable and absolutely powerful. The fact that you felt safe enough to do so in this community is touching to all of us who are a part of it. Thank you!

I would've love to be there in person, but I was there in spirit. Your photo of you crying broke my heart though.

Oh, my goodness, you're really doing it! I so wanted to give you a hug when I saw the tears. Incredible how you pulled yourself together and saw it through.

What a journey.............there is still more to come and always remember you make your life, you have the power to change and design what path you want. You can always return if you choose and never be afraid of what lies ahead!!!

I think I've left maybe three coments on your blog before (I'm really bad about that--we're all working on something, huh?), but I've been an avid reader for a long time. I know you've been through so much, and I have to reiterate that I'm so proud of you! Big big hugs and loving smiles. You're beautiful inside and out, and things are going to be wonderful. Happy new day! Huzzah!

So - there's this engineer at my work with a plane, and suprisingly, if it had been at a nearby airport - would've flown me over for you! :) Can you believe it?
Wish everyone could have been there for you. Looks amazing. You are a very inspiring person! Way to go.

Take care,
M

Oh honey, you're adorable! Found you through another gal's blog and she raved about your style...had to check it out for myself, and I must say, you're stylin' profilin'!!! Loving all the vintage duds and delighted to see you dishing about personal stuff as well as fashion posts...Congrats(?) on the close of one chapter and onto the next...Such a courageous move on your part, albeit, I'm sure very bittersweet but that's what life's about right?! Glad I found you, will be following along to see what's in store for you next!

My blog, Haute Khuuture recently celebrated a 1-year anniversary and I'm sponsoring a HUGE giveaway...would love to see you stop by when you get the chance...

Hope to see you around the blogosphere~

Hi Christina-
I just caught up on your last few posts, but didn't have time to read throught the comments, so forgive me if this is redundant. First, I'm glad I wasn't at your sale because I would have fallen in love with nearly everything and caused marital strife when the credit card bill arrived. Whew! Second, quitting something when it's no longer right for you takes courage and I admire your ability to let go. Third, being a stay at home mom is so much more than doing the tasks that need to be done. I sometimes feel a little guilty about the time that I have to do yoga, read things that feed my soul, dance, etc... but I know that when my husband and children are home they feel the love and positive energy that I've been cultivating while they were gone. In an effort to lay down some more of my prideful nature, instead of saying I stay at home with my kids, I just flat out say-"I don't have a job." That said, I will miss buying stuff from you, because I so enjoy the dresses I've bought from you! I really adore each one of them! God bless you woman.

Diana Hunter said...

Congratulations - You did a brave thing and I wish you all the best! I do hope that you will continue to blog and share your personal wardrobe style with us.

I have never bought a thing from you (sorry) so I can say that I love your blog because of YOUR style and YOUR words - not something I hope to buy from it.

I do hope that as fans we give enough back for you to keep the dialog open...but if not, I respect that too.

Christina, you've really taken me by surprise! To me, it's always seemed that you have this dreamy life - such a beautiful home, in a beautiful place, with a beautiful family. And you are beautiful and have beautiful clothing and what seems to be a dream job. But I know that you're doing what feels right for you.

My question is: will you still keep up this style blog? Even if you don't sell, I would love to continue to see your amazing outfit creations and read your posts. Once you establish the habit of visiting a favorite blog on a regular or semi-regular basis, you start to feel that you are, in a way, visiting a friend.

Also: remember our email conversations about philosophy, way back in 2009 or so? As a stay-at-home mom, you'll still be very busy - but hopefully you'll have a little more time to indulge some philosophy reads. :) If you do, let me (or all of us readers) know how it goes.

I love this post- I've always loved your liquid tawny style, but when you share the chipped paint glitches of your life, it really connects my heart to yours. I am so glad it was a successful event. You look fab, as always, even when you're a mess.
