jump drive move

Because my computer was and is giving me so much trouble, my sweet husband bought me an external hard drive and a little jump drive to sort of clear some space from my folders and be able to move pictures from my computer to his computer for the time being. I have no idea why I didn't have a jump drive before. I always just emailed things to myself if I needed something on another computer, then retrieved it from my email. Seems as though I am finally stepping into a more mobile world.

It has been ridiculously warm and sunny here in Northern Nevada. Like in the 50s and 60s! Crazy beautiful weather! I love it! AND . . . I took about 200 pictures yesterday of new things that will be coming to the shop, on . . .  Monday . . .  I believe. I will do a preview soon.

On a friend note, my lunch with my new friend the other day went great and we have a movie date set up! AND THEN, last night I was at my son's swim lessons and I saw this other mom that was there with her daughter and WE got to talking for like 2 hours while our kids played and found that we have a lot in common! I think I might have made ANOTHER friend! That is like 3 in one month! This stuff doesn't just happen to me. I know some people just make new friends all the time, but I have a very hard time connecting with people in real life. I mean, thats why I was so attracted to the internet in the first place. It allowed me to meet other people like me that didn't live in my small little town. I have to admit that for a LOOOONG while, I did shut LOADS of people out since I was unwilling to open myself up to friendship, but it seems like some crazy friend door has been opened and I am really happy and excited inside to take the risk and actually make friends.  And I think they like me too? I feel like they do. We will see how it goes! It is definitely shaping up to be a very different year for me so far. But its good!

Sweater, hat, purse: vintage (it's funny, I took pictures with the hat on but it was too shadowed since my usual picture taking time is during swim lessons for the next week and a half, and I am taking my pics in the morning instead right now, so it looks like I am just holding it as a prop, but I did wear it. Just to let you know.)
shoes: lucky brand
pants: AA

I really like those pants!

I'm so glad you are meeting and befriending so many new people lately. I also don't connect with people or make new friends easily, so I know it can be a real thrill!

How wonderful that you made a new friend. I find it gets harder and harder to find friends the older we get, especially with kids to deal with. I'm happy for you!

Loving the poncho you're wearing. It looks so comfy!

You look like you give the best hugs. Like, the kinds of hugs that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Cared for.

Is that weird?

The last decade was an extemely self absorbed materialistic decade. This decade is more humanitarian, connecting with people. Glad you got a jump start! What is you astrological sign? May have something to do with why you're connecting right now.

I love reading your blog, as well as I love your sense of style, so simple yet so chic, you always look great and I think it's because you reflect what's inside of you - beautiful :)

Yay for new friends!
I thought I was going to have such a hard time making new friends in my new (much smaller) town...but I have more friends here now than I did in the City I lived before. The difference is that I finally put myself out there. I went to yoga classes, then did swimming with my daughter, and now I'm doing spin class too. I think that the yoga had a big part of things because it made me want to come out of my shell alot more. I finally started yoga after reading about all your soul searching in the last few months...so I figured that I might as well try it because I knew it was the only way I would meet people, and I wanted all the other benifits as well.

Your hair is looking SO amazing in these pictures! I'm slowly going blond, but I'm scared to get the really yellow look since my hair is such a dark brown.

I'm so glad you're making friends! I have the same difficulty when it comes to bonding and I know how you might feel! I wish all the best in your new relationships..! I'm not jealous of the sunny weather (in fact it's the only thing abundant around here), but I'm a little jealous of having friends in my small hometown. Your poncho is great!
Have a lovely day!

I have VERY similiar pants from Urban Outfitters and I never know how to wear them. I love how you mixed the light blue with the camel hue. It works perfectly together. This will definitely be my inspiration when I pull them out of the closet!!

I'm so happy for you! I've been having the same sort of month. Met two women through kind of random circumstances who've quickly become my new 'besties'. I haven't made a (close) new friend in years - let along two! Feels good doesn't it?

This post made me ponder the times in my life when I had many friends. I think as a young mother I had the most friends. I have many colleagues now, though many of them feel more like acquaintances.
