Skidoodle

It is very coincidental that both the Coat and the Dress I am wearing here are from Vintage Etsy shops! The coat was something that seriously made my jaw drop and my head shake when I realized it could be mine. I first saw it on Amanda's blog and then skidoodled over to her shop before I even read her post to buy it, palms sweating with anticipation, stomach jumping up and down, heart beating out of my chest (thats how you know its a good one) Just knowing that someone else was throwing it in their cart the same time as me!  Phew!! I got it!! And seeing it in my closet has made it so much easier to welcome fall! This dress was from Sally Jane Vintage, and I sort of actually thought her shop was a mythical place where things are not really bought, just vaporized into others' closets before I can even glance at them. I saw this in one of her shop previews and was pretty darn sure it too would be gone, but, ah ha!! It was still there as well!  It was my first time buying from her and I'll tell you, It was a little exhilarating buying from someone I think is a little bit too magical to be real. To see that they fit together so well, although contrasting in print slightly, is pretty rewarding!

OH!  And I found a really cool link to an article about the whole white, metal, lungs, fall relationship that I talked about regarding acupuncture a few posts ago! Right here.  AND!! I have some pretty exciting news!! Teee heeee!!! Check this out and look on pages 10 and 11!!!!  I know this post has a million links in it so if you just can't be bothered I understand. . . but I am pretty excited about that last one.

Coat: Off of Broadway  Or wait, Amandromeda actually
Dress: Sally Jane Vintage
Boots: vintage Frye thrifted
Necklace, hat, belt: thrifted

The coat and dress are both to die for! Great finds!

The necklace is such a great piece too. It looks perfect against the colors in that dress.

And I don't think I've ever seen someone who looks cuter in hats than you do. :)

Fun article! I also have a love affair with 70's music- disco primarily- it makes me think gold, glitter and magic!

I love this dress- it makes me wish that I worked in an office setting, so that I could wear things like this!

FROZEN GRAPES ARE MY FAVORITE TREAT EVER.

I apologize, but that had to be shouted.

Also, I love the jacket and the dress. And I more so love that they each have stories behind them. They're like little bloggy vintage souvenirs. Aw....

And Congratulations on the feature! I haven't seen that publication before, but that is very exciting.

And, I don't know if you're a fan yet- but Style Pantry {on the cover} is seriously like the new Queen of my Kingdom. I have a big old gushy crush on her. She has the best pants on the planet. And the best hair. And she has kids, too!

You look absolutely fabulous in this. So neutral but SO striking.

I will surely be reading the article on White Metal Lungs {which, by the way, is the new name of my rock band that doesn't exist- maybe we're a Spinal Tap cover band, or one of those bands that takes old jazzy tunes and whatnot and makes them über punk}.

Anyway.....

I definitely totally forgot what my point was here.

Love the dress and the coat. Congratulations on your magazine feature. It looks beautiful! I love the Chinese Medicine link. I'm going in soon to make sure I'm balanced. But I love that the best thing to do is breath. Cheap and easy!

You are just popping up all over the place. You completely deserve it. Each collection of yours is superb (I was going to say magical, but I can tell that it's your word so I won't infringe)

The coat with that dress is such a perfect match. It's so luxurious with the coat and once that is off the dress seems totally unassuming and gorgeous at the same time.

Well done my friend

I click on all your pictures to see the feathers in your hair. I've had an awful cold but plan to try and put mine in this weekend. Mine are the same natural color as yours. All the other colors I found were so "neon" so I went with the au naturale! Anyway... I'm really curious to see how they look in dark hair. I held them up and kind of cringed for a split second, but hopefully they'll rock!

Oh, and do you remember when Billy and I came over for dinner and you made chicken and CRISPY HASH BROWNS???! !! WELL... you totally got me hooked on peanut oil for cooking awesome hash browns. I think at the time I was like, "hash browns for dinner???" but then I was like, "wowwwww."

I'm such a dork.

How is it that EVERYTHING you wear looks great on you? Sometimes I think something you have on is not so great, but you manage to make it look like a million bucks. I love how you "style it up"!

Congrats on the magazine!! That's pretty amazing.

Your color palette matches your surrounding so well, it gives a serenity to your pictures. I sound like a crazy hippie, but it's Friday night so that's ok.

Hey
Just saying hi.
I was just looking around and this idea popped into my head.
I was thinking, 'i love her color scheme so much, she wears such earthy warm western colors' and then i was like, 'wait, her backgrounds are warm and earthy colors and she lives in the west!'.
So how much do you think what you choose to wear is some subconscious urge to harmonize with your surroundings??
It felt like an epiphany. Haha!
