Back in spring I really really wanted these Seychelles shoes. I wanted them in RED. At the time, I was imposing some kind of crazy "two pairs of new shoes" a year rule on myself and thought that maybe they were not the most versatile and practical choice, so I procrastinated on buying them until the day came that I realized with every fiber in my bones that these were indeed the shoes I should get and that they were in fact very practical and just the thing my entire wardrobe needed to feel complete (its amazing that shoes could ever feel so important, a first world perception indeed.) Unfortunately by the time I got my crazy bootie to the computer to get them, they had discontinued RED and had released Turquoise instead (they only have gold and black now). I got the turquoise and applied the sour grapes mentality to the red "Oh, they would probably be too bright anyway. Oh, the turquoise goes with more of my stuff anyway. They are gorgeous just the way they are. bla bla bla." (besides, they are just shoes right?)
Then I met Zoë. . . and she had the red. OF COURSE SHE DID. Among other amazing assets. I went on admiring her color of my shoes for months before I found out she was the same shoe size as me. In September, I could not swallow my sour grapes bullshit any longer. I suggested maybe we trade for a month or so. Just, you know, to see how it would feel to try a new color. . . and she said YES. So these are hers!!! On my freaking feet!! I have no idea how long this will last so I may wear the crap out of them (I promise they will not be destroyed when I return them Zoë!) I am really really trying to avoid any cliches right now, about shoes and walking and all that stuff, but seriously, this is pretty awesome.
Dress: Vintage from the Sac Antique Faire (yup, the same one I have been talking about for a month now!!!)
Scarf, belt, necklace: vintage thrifted
Socks: J Crew
Gypsy Seychelles Shoes: Maybe one of the coolest women in the world.
Purse: coincidentally, from maybe one of the coolest woman in the world.

Gorgeous shoes!

I love those shoes and have been contemplating getting them in black. But the orange is my favorite! Would you get the gold? Those would look hot on you.
PS- Endless.com has them in red! On sale!
Since this section is labeled "Comments" and not "Compliments," my comment is: Love the dress and the way you wear it, but the socks look goofy.
I've commented far too much. Please don't ban me! But I wanted to reply to anon- the socks are my favorite part of the outfit! Seriously.
hm. anon is obv entitled to his/her opinion....but i adore the socks! this whole outfit is fan-freakin-tastic. how amazing is zoe to trade shoes?! and louise is right about the shoes!

Those shoes are really beautiful in both colors. Is that always the same anon with socks and shoes comments? Come out of the closet anon!
I hate that feeling of regret when I take too long to pull the trigger on a purchase and it slips through my fingers- lucky you, you got a do-over!

Awwww, they look SO fabulous on you!
And I love how you took the gypsy theme and ran with it! You look so mysterious and austere. Really, really, really perfect.
And such an interesting and also perfect choice of purses! :)
Oh shucks, I just love this so much.
Can't wait to take a walk in your shoes.

The first thing I loved about your outfit when I saw it were your shoes and then I read the story behind them. I'm jealous. There's just something about red shoes isn't there?
i absolutely lovee love love this outfit.
Now that is synchronicity! What good luck, they look fantastic x

They look great on you! It's probably a good thing you took them from Zoë. I had to stand on my tippy toes to give her a hug as is, so I'm sure she's fine without all that extra height.
If you had to walk in someone else's shoes I'd say hers are pretty interesting ones to walk in.
I have taken a summer long and then some break from blogging and sifting through other blogs. I just wanted to say how beautiful you look and what a perfect transformation you have gone through since i was last looking at your blog. I missed secondskin! XO
both colors are gorgeous. have you checked ebay for your own pair? maybe you can find them for a heck of a lot cheaper.
Hello Gypsy cutie (my exact thought before I even read the title). LOVE this look. WISH I was at that sale with you.
And yes, lovely lovely shoes. They love your feet. They do, I can tell from here.

Turquoise in the form of a color as opposed to a rock (gem, whatever) is totally underrated. That's all I'm sayin'.
Love your dress!
Ha--what a wonderful story! Now I'll be looking for YOUR shoes on HER blog.
I tried a scarf in my hair for the FIRST time today. No one on campus said a word about it...which means that it must be non-noteworthy. What a breakthrough to realize this!
i love the pattern mixing here of the head scarf + dress! you look fabulous...and the shows are fabulous! :)

Zappos has tan, turquoise and ornage/red available.
I've been daydreaming about these shoes since I first saw you wear them. undecided on color though.
