savor to the last smear

I sort of can't believe that I am wearing a sweater in September.  I think I would be willing to sacrifice a virgin lamb to the sun god of warm summers to get my full length, hot September (which is rightfully mine, since it's my birthday (19th) month and my blogs birthday (30th) month!) Ah, but isn't entitlement the natural parent of disappointment? Let's hope I get lucky anyway.  I know everyone seems ready for fall, but I get 8 full months of freaking cold as it is.  Desperate layers and runny noses.  I don't want to add September to that lot. Enough complaining. At least this sweater is pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Of course, maybe it IS a September sweater after all, as it is very light weight and off the shoulder and the most subtle heathered mint color. It's super soft too so you really do want it right next to the skin, not layered over something annoying and tight.  It will be my consolation prize if things don't heat back up.

Well, happy September!  I will be licking the bowl of every day of this month trying to savor it to the last smear.

September sweater: vintage thrifted
Pants: AA
Shoes: gift from you know who. . .
Purse: vintage thrifted

P.S. Claire posted some pictures from her trip and a video of the two of us she recorded from her laptop! Check it out if you would like to!

Ok I keep seeing those pants surfacing on blogs and they really intrigue me. I'm not a huge fan of AA, they're a little overpricey sometimes but I still own a few things from there. (i just cant help myself!)
I recently bought some pleated old man style pants and then felt guilty and returned them. I decided to hunt down some actual MAN PANTS. On Monday, I found some really nice ones (not vintage but pleated still) I need to have them hemmed but I'm hoping they will turn out well!! These look amazing on you, the whole outfit, very fall appropriate. By the way, you can have the disgusting heat we have here right now, I don't want it :)

Oh I feel you about not wanting to wear fall clothes yet. I feel like I have barely gotten into my summer stuff and yet I am already starting to need layers in the morning and evening.
Oh well, at least you have a beautiful sweater to wear, even if it is a sweater!

I love the color of the pants (they almost look like a kind of denim or are they?)

I agree...summer has left way to fast...and where I live Winter comes way too quickly leaving only a few weeks for Fall...it's quite saddening...everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say I hate Fall...I LOVE Fall fashion...I love the Pretty Colours of Fall..I love layering...but I hate that it only lasts a few weeks and then there is snow and my poor behind is frozen....haha..I sound like a complainer...but the weather has been horrible this summer...so I was hoping September would make up for it!

On a fashion note...I really love those shoes!! And the over the Shoulder sweater is perfection!

I'm on the hunt for work-appropriate pants that aren't TOO dressy (nor are jeans, like what I wear everyday) and you are my pants-inspiration. You're also my tops, accessories, hair and shoes inspiration but that's beside the point.

I hear you! We had the most ridiculous June-uary here in Portland so everyone is praying for an extended summer. We've had a couple of gray days to remind us of the torture to come. The sun's on it's way back though so we'll be sucking the life out of every ray for sure!

Loving your bangs!

i love that thought: 'trying to savor it to the last smear.' i'm trying to do that in so many areas of my life and hanging on to summer is one of those areas. i'm not ready to lose the hot and sultry days. i love the pic of you facing away from the camera. it's so serene and beautiful and reflective. so very lovely.

You are so cute! I adore your writing. And I adore that sweater. Oh, and it's freezing there eight months of the year? Yikes. And here I was wishing I lived in Nevada!

But hearts to you. And a lovely birthday month to you!

I know what you mean about wanting just a little bit more of the warm. Snow until may and then snow in the mountains the end of august? Crazy utah weather!

I die for these shoes each time I see them.

And to be honest- I do lament the return of Winter. I'm not crazy about being really cold, and having that runny nose you spoke about, and scraping ice off my windows and slipping in the parking lot and trying not to cry in front of strangers about it. I hate those things.

But I just get excited at the turn of every season. Something new. A big change. For us, for nature.

...And I am in love with this heathered mint sweater you have here. I think that my new goal in life will be to find as much heathered mint as I possibly can.

However- oddly enough: I found two mint flavored bottoms at the thrift today!! Trou and a skirt. They would love your sweater, too.

Also- I am kind of regretting not getting those AA chambray trou you have here. They look so crisp, so sophisticated, and soooo casual all at the same time! I think the awesome shoes have a little to do with that as well. But not too much.

Also also- I didn't your blog and I shared a birthday!
