Ya, that's right.

I have had these suede shorts for months now and felt like I could probably wear them, several times, but never did until today (Monday). The problem was that they were a tad too long and strange looking just down and I never felt like it would be OK to roll them like this since they are lined and it makes the liner show and I thought that was maybe against the rules, but I just finally did it and wore them and I feel like it was fine.  I guess my motto is "Just pretend its supposed to be that way, and no one will ask you any questions." No one did.  I knew the true test was going to be blog world though since I would feel guilty if I just showed these pictures and was like "ya, thats right.  that is how you wear vintage suede shorts. get on the band wagon. let your liner show. COOL*." like I just KNOW WHAT I AM DOING.  Plus I am pretty sure you can smell pretend confidence bullshit from hundreds of miles away.

Shorts: thrifted
Shirt: Vintage gift
Bolo: thrifted
Shoes: Vintage gift
Belt: From a dress I bought at Barefoot & Vintage
Bracelet: ArtnStone
Hat, purse: thrifted

*I have not seen this, the rolled suede shorts with liner showing, anywhere else and this is in no way a reference to anyone else on the internet anywhere. If someone else has done this it is pure coincidence.  Trust me, if I saw it somewhere else I would already have the validation I am looking for. And I am not too proud to admit that with things like this I do seek validation. I feel like I should do a quick browse to make sure no one in our neighborhood has done this in the past few days. Let me know if you have seen someone, if you feel like it. Thank you.

Christina, you are too precious. I didnt even notice the lining, silly face! I thought it looked great, those are pretty fantastic shorts. Now I have to change the subject and say WOWSAAAAAA THOSE SHOES. I died a little. Then I came back to life and died some more when I saw they were vintage. Holy mother of Moses I am in love.

p.s. my "hot" friend, that's my friend Ty. I sent him a lil message with what you said and I am sure it made his day! :-)
I have sad news for you tho, he has a boyfriend. haha

Haven't seen it elsewhere, but I made my own leather shorts from a pair of thrifted leather pants and fully intend to cuff and expose lining!

Lining is totally acceptable, looks like it's supposed to be that way! Love the shoes too!

I'm pretty sure that if NO ONE else had ever done something (worn something) and then you did, EVERYONE else would want to do the same thing.

Because you're just that gorgeous.

And...I may have ruined my keyboard drooling over the shoes. Whoops.

The lining looks fine, I wouldn't have noticed. You could always just take them up an inch if you want a clean line though. The suede shorts are much nicer than leather.

just like bolomania (which i see you're wearing one!) you should start a 'show your lining' movement. i'm certain it will be all the rage. and i remember seeing those shoes in the winter and coveting them something fierce. they are so amazing! i'm still willing to wrestle you for them.

I totally would not have noticed or thought anything of the lining had I noticed had you not mentioned it. Now there's a mouthful!

LOVE those shorts. They look seriously great.

Also, your motto is MY motto! We have the same motto! FUN! Only I don't have such a concise sentence. Now I have to make one! But not now, now I'm sleepy.

Oh pipe down about the "pretend confidence"---you sooooooo OWN THIS LOOK! that's me trying to be all bitchy "fierce" telling you that you are rockin the liner like no other! And because its you I will not be surprised if other bloggers try this now (only some will be to lame to give credit where credit is due) because I've seen you...you little trendsetter-you can really set the blogworld on fire with some of your looks!
And so yeah...Just OWN IT, this looks good!

Oooh, I didn't even notice it was lining...I thought that's how they were supposed to be! Well, however they should be worn, your outfit is fabulous and my gosh that top is killer! You look great Christina :]

Those. Shoes. Are. Vintage???

I saw them, immediately scrolled down to where I could buy them, and then I died.

That is absolute insanity.

Also, although I like you in really bright, electric colors- these honeyed brown tones against your skin are pretty much just epic sexy.

And I hope this doesn't make your belt feel silly- but it makes me really happy because it looks like a 50s vacuum cord, or something like that. Definitely something that plugs in. And that makes me think of Brave Little Toaster, and that makes me even happier. It also kind of makes me want to use a cord as a belt, sprockets and all.

Obviously we knew this was going to be a long comment.

Um- I have seen many suede shorts at the thrift but have surpassed them due their length and seemingly inappropriate rolling-capabilities. Not only did you totally school me on that, but you did it with a bolo, so the next time I find me some suede shorts, I will most certainly let my liner show.

I still cannot believe those shoes are vintage. I still cannot believe I died.

Amazing shoes!! Suede shorts seem like an oxymoron to me. Especially since I live in Florida so if I owned a pair I would never have an occasion to wear them.

the blouse is lovely and the bolo? shades of Zoe?
