bolomania pride

So, this bolo.  The first day I found Haiku Ambulance she was wearing two bolos and she stated that she was starting a campaign to bring back the bolo (which she has since named "Bolomania") and that very next time I was shopping (out with Paige) I found a row of them and demanded that Paige and I get all of them to aid in the cause.  I got this one and one other (you will see it soon) while Paige got the greatest one I have ever seen (which, to be fair, she did see first due to my over excitement of seeing any bolos at all, and not any specifically).  It was fine. I recovered from the loss.  So here is to the fearless Zoe and Bolomania! I swear if she decided one day that wearing a zoro mask was cool I would probably see her point and follow suit. This girl is magic.

My brother's wedding is tomorrow and everyone is arriving now.  They are just poor kids marrying out of insanely romantic and passionate love and the reception will be a pot luck dinner in my parents church hall. EVERYONE is pitching in. A real community affair. We all love them both so much and wish them the very best of luck!  I will snap some pictures (I am in the wedding party and will be wearing the most AMAZING bridesmaids dress I have ever seen, and I didn't even pick it out! You will see it in my regular rotation soon!! It has pockets!!)

With the holiday and all the family visiting, posting will likely resume Tuesday. In my down time though, I really want to take the time to get around to all of you FREAKY FREAK FREAKERSONS and thank you for your encouragement yesterday to let my strange out.  You have been warned.

First of all, I love everything about this outfit, and not to mention your beautiful face!
Want to hear a funny story? When I first stumbled accross your blog a few months back, I thought this girl is way too freakin gorgeous to be down to earth and I kept sifting through other blogs (this was when I first discovered style blogs and I was frantically obsessed and sifting through 500 links everywhere) And then I came back a few times and I fell in love. lust? envy? amazement? all of the above and more? And now I read up every word and enjoy the pictures. Ok that's the end of my creepy story. (see? we're all a little creepy inside)
back to your post... really I can't even remember what I was talking about...
It's really great your bro is getting married out of sheer love and passion. and I think that the best kind of weddings are the kind that are more of a party to celebrate the love and coming together of families than it is about a 5 thousand dollar dress and bridezilla.
I hope you have a nice long weekend!

I love that you've got some freak in you, it makes you waaay more relatable! Because, c'mon we're all a tad cooky!

Love the outfit, I'll be on the hunt for a bolo, but with caution! You wear it well but I'm still hesitant about it for me. I adore the idea of bolomania though!

I'm so in love with my bolo ... actually, I am wearing it right now. If this bolo movement kicks in, know you have a proud compatriot in MN!

Love your blog, always a bright spot in my Google Reader, cuz aren't we all just freaks at heart?

I am totally loving all of these photos. Everything just seems so wonderfully perfect in them. The shirt is gorgeous, I love the way it shows off your shoulders, the zig-zagged edge is awesome and the pink colour is so pretty. The bag is incredible, the pattern on it is so amazing.

The bolo is great - I'd also like to see a better photo of it up close, because I'm afraid that this one doesn't quite do it justice. And if you find someone that inspires you, you might as well use that inspiration, right? Sometimes when I go thrifting, I feel like I'm channeling the style of one of the bloggers I follow!

I love the bit of detail that the belt adds, and the slightly distressed look of the shorts. The shoes are fabulous, and as always, the scenery in the background is so utterly beautiful.

Really, everything's perfect. This is an iconic summer outfit.

Congratulations to your brother on his wedding, I can't wait to see your dress!

And I'll let you know that we all have a little weird in us at least sometimes. I was talking to a kid last week and he (somewhat jokingly) told me "You're weird" and I said "At least that's not boring". I think most people could agree wholeheartedly with that. And I'd always rather be weird than boring.

Hey, I have a bolo!

I think I'll jump right in on the bandwagon.

Weeeeeee!

So, homework assignment: If you see an off the shoulder dress, kind of like the top you're wearing but with long sleeves and of course, ummm, in dress form in your old fart/easy-to-thrift-in of a town, holla at ME because I've been looking for one for ages.

Well more like 2 weeks. But that's a long fuckin time in blogger world.

XO, Christina, may the 4TH be with you. Han Solo has a lisp now. Convenient timing.

How incredibly exciting - a cute bridesmaid dress. I've seen some pretty bad ones in my time so consider yourself reallllly lucky that this one won't need to be hidden in the back of your closet for all of eternity! Congratulations to your brother! Have fun.

I have no idea what a bolo is. I'm sorry! I feel like it's the sort of thing it is shameful not to know. Good word, though. Bolo.

That purse again! I love it! I feel like stealing it from you. Haha. It just that fabulous!

I can't wait to see these bridesmaid dresses you speak of. I love when I see weddings that are potluck style, diy and community based. I sort of wished I had gone that route.
