suit up, we're goin in

Day two of profesh dressing.  This is the very first suit I have ever owned.  I don't know how I feel about it really but it functioned really well today so I can't complain!  Just wore my low sandals today and it was much better, but I am still soaking my feet tonight (thanks for the tips!). I didn't take my blazer off at the convention, but absolutely did for drinks after.  My top is another scarf tied in the front this time with the top folded over to cover the knot.  Not sure why I keep doing this here on this trip, but I have a feeling I will continue when I get home. I am so brain dead right now.  Bla bla Ha Hahhahaha!  I gotta go!

Blazer and pants: Banana Republic
scarf top: vintage
sandals: vintage 9 west
necklace: vintage thrifted

I love how you've used the scarf as a top. It's a great style trick for you!

What a clever top! It's so cool to see you in professional wear and something different, and then putting your own twist on it. Hope you're having a great time!

Love this. Love how you've kept your YOU in the equation! Oh, and I am twisting my little mind about every which way to figure out how you did that with the top (I read the explanation, I guess I am just not that clever!).

I will probably have to strip down to my skivies, get out a scarf, and try it to figure it out.

---for some reason reading your post made me remember my dream--in it I found an attic full of old designer purses which I fully intended on stealing. Also I think I may have been a cat. I don't know why I am telling you this.

I love the scarf-shirt trick and only we small-breasted women can pull it off. Hooray for itty bitty boobies! I plan to try it as soon as the weather warms up here.

WOW!!! You look very different from the last time that I stopped by! You changed your hair color, right? You look very cute in the first suit! Thanks for having me in your blogroll. :)

I have got to try that scarf thing! It looks really comfortable to hot sticky days. You pull off the suit very well. A well made suit is something every woman should one.

Oh real estate! It was me that asked and thanks for responding. I am in beauty ecommerce so we tend to have a lot of conventions in Vegas and SF. I dont typically go though as it is usually for the higher-ups.

I've worn a suit on occasion too, and have always loved punching it up with little extras! You look fabulous, the scarf top is brilliant.

I work in a very conservative field so I just love the sexy scarf top underneath the basic black suit. Sometimes I really wish I could just leave my D cups at home so that I could pull off something like that! ;-)

not to many people can pull off the "suit" without looking like a dry piece of toast. However, all through college I had to wear one for presentations and stuff. ZARA has amazing suits and my fav was a Chamray jacket/pants. I'd wear a vintage band tee underneath with pearls :)

@406 olivia, i was just thinking the same thing (about the itty bitty boobs)
i don't think i could get away with wearing a scarf as a shirt, maybe on vacation though.

It looks very darling, and that suit looks great on you! where did you get it from?

Love,

You should do a video about how to tie your scarf tops!

maggeygrace said...

I second the video on making a scarf top!!

I have so many scarves that are really really wide- almost to wide to just wear as a scarf!!

I LOVE the top- it's so chic and unexpected! It's gorgeous!
