we won't let you in

So this morning I set my alarm for very early, "gonna have an early productive day to kick off a productive week!"  was my intention, but I snoozed twice and the third alarm was still pretty annoyingly early, so I grabbed my phone to see if I had any cool emails that would help me out of bed.  YES I DID.  I flew out of bed faster than I do when I think spiders are crawling on me and raced down to find the illustration below! An artist named Corey Lee, who has both a blog and a website for his work, sent me this email:

Hi, I'm Corey, an illustrator, and I came across your blog not too long ago. I like to occasionally do drawings based on fashion, so with all your pictures of different outfits, naturally I had to draw one of them. I did a drawing based on you Mrs Fox post(http://secondskinstyle.blogspot.com/2010/02/mrs-fox.html). You can see it on my blog here: http://factorzero.wordpress.com/2010/02/28/mrs-fox/

I also wanted to give you credit by name on my blog, but I wasn't sure what your actual name was. I think it's Marie. Am I right?

SO Freaking COOL right!!?? WOW!  I my socks literally blew off my feet (well figuratively since I wasn't actually wearing socks to begin with.)  I went over to the site to find that Alyson had very sweetly told him my name was Christina (but my middle name is Marie).   I noticed that along the side of my purse he had written "We won't let you in," So, I wrote him an email thanking him of course and requesting permission to post his work here.  I also asked about the text.  Apparently he scribbles in a little line from the song he is listening to while he is drawing.  The song he is referring to in this sketch is this one by the band Brand New.  He has some really great work and I completely recommend a leisurely stroll through his sites!  He is one to know about.

This. Is. Am. A. Ziiiing!
I love drawing, art, and fashion, and this illustration marries them all together seamlessly (pun slightly intended). There are so many examples of fashion-based drawings out there, and this one really tops the cake. :)

I love all the drawings that seem to get done of fashion bloggers! I've been thinking about doing a series of such drawings myself. Hmm...maybe I shall.
