make it work

I have had this suspender bodysuit for a very long time and have been wanting to wear it, but wasn't really sure how.  I guess just basic black works, but it kinda makes me feel like a mime or something!  Jeans look weird, I thing a full black skirt would be cute. . .  I don't know.  Maybe it is not as great as I think it is.  You know how it is when your gut tells you that something is good, but you just don't know any practical applications for it.  Perhaps this bodysuit will just be paired with bright tights someday and a belt for a play session and that will be it.  If anyone has any suggestions or examples for making this work right let me know.  If it sucks, no sweat.

I hope you have a very lovely weekend!

Ha ha ha.....I think the suspenders look good in all of your pics....I really like your shoe collection BTW. I laugh because I understand when a piece may not be as great as you originally thought. I have been putting not so great outfits together a lot lately and then wearing it in PUBLIC because of no time to change! Keep the piece, keep working on it and I know you will WOW us just as you always do...all in good time :) Peace Girl!

I think it looks best with the skirt & socks. Perhaps you could also try with a blouse that has a ruffled front or one of those 70s style blouses with the high necks & extra fabric to tie a bow. Or you could just totally embrace the mime theme & wear a wide b&w stripe top with a red skirt.

Looks excellent with the skirt!

God, I wish I had smaller boobs so I could make something like that work for me too :)

I agree with the skirt. It looks great, but then I think you could make anything look great!!! I think I would have put some light or bright tights with it. I noticed someone suggested a red skirt, which could look good too! I think it could be worked into several rally nice outfits, based on a skirt and a nice blouse/top worn under the bodysuit, but I think the pants are just so-so.
I guess I am biased because I am not really a pants person. I just have to say that what you are doing, in coming up with outfits for peoples suggestions, is great!

I have been following you on weardrobe for months and just started "officially" following u. thanks for inspiring me to be ME. I love the bohemain romantic look and you inspired me to start posting all my romantic skirts, cameos, etc.
I think a super-lacey blouse with a neckline up to your chin with pearls hanging super long and your brown boots would look super with this!

oh yeah, and add some unexpected tights. black lace floral would be too "expected"? maybe some multi-colored florals. or an unusual color like a faded burnt reddish-orange?

I love the last photo. I think you look great and I think the way to pulled these looks together makes the simple bodysuit something sophisticated and pulled together.

thank you so much for visiting my baby blog! you are so kind and lovely! i first discovered whatiwore2day while surfing randomly under "fashion"! her blog inspired me to start one too! i used her template too as so many of my shots are indoors, and black seemed to make them "pop" better. I love the idea of having the behind the scene props. how about one on those of us who can't get our hubs to snap us ;)! anyhoo- thanks again for your inspiration!

This post really makes me want a suspender bodysuit.

I think either look works well. Have you tried pairing it with a bottom that isn't black? I think I'd like to see it with a nice contrast, though nothing too bright - most likely a neutral grey or navy.

you look great in black but I think that option with skirt is better.

I think the suspender belt plus headscarf gives your first outfit a cool modern 1920s vibe.

I love the first outfit! The way you broke it up with the belt is a great idea. Perhaps add some florals? and maybe a statement necklace?

is there nothing that you can't wear and carry off brilliantly? :o)
i think both outfits rock!

I actually think you styled it exceptionally well - I love both of these looks! Do you mind me asking where you found it? I would LOVE to own one!

And definitely try it with a really full skirt. I think that would be divine.

I like it with the pants. it creates a long line and makes it seem like one piece. I know what you mean about going with your gut. I just recently bought a cape from Zara. I have NO IDEA what to wear it with but I knew I really liked it and that I will try to wear it one day!
