British?

Not sure if it's the trench coat, or the fact that my husband seems to look like Prince William, or if its just a good ice breaker, but we have been mistaken for British people several times since we have been here!  Fine with me! I love the English (my whole family on my moms side is straight from England, and the only TV shows that make me cry laughing are british comedies, and I only drink tea and love English sensibilities and accents and EVERYTHING basically!)  I even got hit on by an English guy at the book store today! I know, I am in New York and I spent time in a freaking bookstore, but it is kind of cold and we just needed to tuck in to warm up a bit.

SO, had a lovely first day.  It seems like you can basically walk around one block and find all the shopping, food, buildings and people you can ever really need!  I am meeting up with a few girls for drinks tonight and may change before I go.  I will take more pictures! I really didn't bring much.  Had to share a suit case with my husband so, ya,  there will not be much variety.  I looked around the shops, but it is really hard for me to buy things that have like 8 identical sisters sitting there behind them.  Everything that is new feels sort of like it is trying to be as cool as its older (vintage) sister.  It's Weird.  Maybe I will try to get to Beacon's Closet or something!

COMMENT OF THE DAY:  AHH!!  It is so cool to know that I am SO CLOSE to so many of you!  Passing outside your offices while you work!  This is the only time I wish I had twitter so I could be like "at 38th and 5th street, if you are close by come outside and say hi!" or "I am in Times Square, if you work near here meet me by the Walgreens!"  I guess that is sort of asking for trouble though!

You are right by my work (38th and 5th)!! I pass those lions 3 times a week, haha. So very cool:D Also, I live by Beacon's Closet! There is one in Park Slope (by me) and a bigger one in Williamsburg. Btw, the hair looks adorable, and that dress + tshirt = amazingness. I hope you're enjoying NYC!!

You made it! Looking great of corse! I know what you mean about shopping new, I have a really hard time with it and usually will only buy things that are on "super" sale. It's much easier for me to pick things out at thrift stores because I have been going to them since I was a kid. I look for colors, textures and fabrics and it goes pretty quick these days. I think my mom thinks I am crazy because when I come home for the holidays I only want to go to the thrift stores. They are a dream in smaller towns! Have a blast dear!!

Oh, I hope you're having the most wonderful time! You DO look British - many of us English girls favour muted tones, heavy layers and a twinkle in our eye during the cold winter months!

Your hubby is such a cutie - very regal. :) xx

Oh how funny about the getting hit on.. No wonder!

I feel the same way as you do with "normal" shops. I just feel like i can't buy something that has that many identical friends haha. I like to be unique I guess!! Keep having fun!
