Whoa

Today was pretty low key since we slept in till past noon and lounged around a bit. Nice way to spend Valentines day though.  We had lunch in a sweet little cafe near our hotel, and then the coolest thing happened! I know that this is probably not as big of a deal as I think it is, but someone approached me (Martini from Beyond Boston Chic) and asked if she could photograph me for her street style blog! While she was taking my picture a guy from the LA Times came up and took my picture too!!  I Tried to play it cool, but I was FREAKING OUT inside!   I have no idea if the pictures will turn out or if they will even use them (Since I was smiling like a maniac!), but I have to say, I don't even care sisnce It was SO very exciting!  I also met Jason from Citizen Couture and talked with both bloggers for a while about blogging and blog neighborhoods and the fashion shows and what not.  I love bloggers! I am sure my excitement about this makes me SO uncool, but whatever!

My outfit today was a striped tee shirt (that was a hand me down from the Ceramics Teacher I work with) layered over a peach long sleeved tee that you can't see in these pics, and my over the elbow gloves.  I got this skirt from H&M yesterday and basically looks like the bottom half of a trench coat. Then my thrifted trench, scarf, Justin boots and my handmade (by Mel!) slouchy knit hat.

COMMENT OF THE DAY: I mean! I can't really answer this question because I can't even EVER get the guts to ask anyone if I can take their picture, but the way she asked me was just with a huge smile on her face!  I am such a sucker for a smile and of course I was probably easy for her to ask because I smile at everyone like its an invitation to approach me! I guess, just smile! I don't know!!?? Good Luck with any "non smilers" though! That would be super tough!

Congrats! I've been trying to work up the nerve to ask people to let me take their pics for a street style mention on my blog, but I'm too dang scared. Tips? Suggestions?

Love the outfit! Sounds like you are having a ball! I'm not surprised that you are still getting photographed. You did when ever we took you places. I know you don't remember, but when you were 3 a photographer took pictures of you at a fountain in Sedona! You look awesome! Enjoy. I love those boots!

Love Mom!

What? All of that really happened? IN addition to being recognized the first day you were on the subway in NYC???? YOu're a freakin' superstar!!!! And PS-that is exactly the skirt I knew you were talking about...hahaha I almost bought the khaki one as I mentioned. And the boots you're wearing--very unique, I like the details.

Goodness, that's absolutely amazing!!!! And don't worry, why play it cool? It excites you? Show it! There are way to much people out there who play it cool, it's the main stream. (And only dead fish swim with the stream!)

I absolutely LOVE your shoes. The rest of the outfit is nicely put together and works well on you.

That all sounds so exciting!
I love what you're wearing, especially the trench.

I received the CD in the mail today :). The majority of it was all new to me so I was super excited. I've really enjoyed it. Thank you so much. I would do the same, but I don't have a burner. However, if you've never heard anything by Florence & The Machines, I'd recommend them. As well as Almost Lover or Ashes And Wine by A Fine Frenzy.
