social loose ends

I don't know why I don't wear this sweater more.  I found it in the weird section of the Goodwill where they bunch bathing suits and coverups, and kitted ponchos with other miscellaneous things.  Its hand knitted I am pretty sure and maybe the maker didn't think the proportions were right or something, but I think it is 100% spot on perfection!  Its my fantasy sweater incarnate! Perfect over a fitted silhouette, or with a slouchy tee shirt and jeans.  and it is so warm.  I can't believe this is the first time I have worn it this winter!

As far as new years resolutions go, I know what I am going to do.  I have a bunch of social loose ends.  Friends I have failed to communicate with, grandmas I need to update, people I failed to send christmas cards to (everyone this year) Cousins who's weddings I missed, the list goes on and on.  And I painfully remember each person I have failed.  and it eats me up inside.  SO, 52 weeks in a year, 52 cards in a deck, 52 letters to write, BY HAND.  I am going to write the names of 52 people who need a letter on a playing card from a deck, shuffle the deck each week, and hand write and send that person a letter.  Trust me, this is something I have been NEEDING to do.  For some people for YEARS, maybe Decades.  There are probably more than 52 people even.  this is the hardest thing i have ever chosen for myself.  i just have to let go of the weight.

That sweater is fantastic! I think that your resolution is a really interesting and heartfelt one. I love getting letters in the mail, so I'm sure it will be appreciated!

Since I'm a lonely college student, I can attest to how much a letter from a loved one really means! What a great idea.

I also wanted to say that I love every single one of your outfits. I love coming onto your blog because I feel our body shapes are pretty similar, and I hope I can keep it that way when i'm a little older than 17 ;)

Have an amazing new year!

Hands down, that is the best NY resolution I have read. I feel the same... it sounds so stupid when you say' I was thinking of sending you a card...' yeah, and then life got in the way and you forgot and you feel rotten. What a good idea to help ease your guilt and to make others feel better with some good old fashioned snail mail. Love it. Like I love that sweater of perfect slouchiness.

This is actually a really good resolution. I bet it's going to feel like such a weight has been lifted once you get to writing those letters too. Good luck!

I'm sure everyone you write will get a jolt of excitement when the open their mailboxes.

That's an AMAZING resolution. I have a ton of social loose ends myself, but I'm not as brave as you. Best of luck! I bet you'll actually get some rewarding responses in return, as well.

Such a good New Years resolution! I agree, the sweater is perfect. And so is the romper, boot, sweater tight, belt combo!

Lady, lady, lady: Your resolution is totally admirable. Maybe you should even make a photo copy of the letters before you send them off because in some ways it'll be a diary of your life too. BTW, I love this outfit. It looks sooo cozy and cute, too!

I adore this entire outfit and that sweater is an amazing part of it! You make me want to run out to Goodwill with every outfit.

I think your resolution sounds like a wonderful idea. I think relationships are very important and I'm also going to try and concentrate and improve mine some more too. It's worth it!

What a perfect, perfect NY resolution. I would be so amazed and delighted if one of my friends did this for me!

You look so lovely. Navy is one of my favourite colours. And you're right - the jumper is divine!

What a really sweet and kind thing for you to do, I think hand written letters are so understated.

That jumper is way to cute.

I love the social loose ends idea. I have a pen pal that I write to regularly. I don't think people put pen to paper often enough these days.

And you outfit, I am absolutely in LOVE. I can't even pick one thing. The romper? Perfect. The leggings? I need them. The boots? Amazing color. The sweater? Right up my alley. The belt? Ties it all together. You hit the nail on the head!
