knee socks and scarves

Going totally preppy again today!  Another outfit inspired by the J Crew catalog.  I am loving this tied at the neck scarf Idea that gets tucked into a button up shirt.  Actually NOT from the catalog, I think I just saw it somewhere.  This entire outfit is thrifted except for the knee highs (from J Crew) and the skirt (from American Apparel)  EVEN the Shoes which were originally released in the 80's.  I really rarely wear them because I have a thing about my feet looking too small for my body (which is weird because I wear a size 8 and I am 5'6" which is pretty proportional, the logic should trump the eye!) and I am so used to the chunkyness of boots.  They are stinkin cute though.  I think blogging is probably going to get me out of my boot rut.  The more I see all of the great heeled oxfords on other people, the more I am comfortable doing it myself.  Of course the socks give the ILLUSION of boots a little bit.  So its kind of a baby step.

I have been so excited to read your comments and visit your blogs!  Its really exciting to see the things we have in common!  It feels so warm and fuzzy to be part of such a supportive and genuinely beautiful community!  I am having serious blogger love right now!

Every time i check your blog, i find out a new post! :D You are so creative! You know cause I'm supposed to be working on a project, I just check some of my most favorite blogs lately... Yours is just a satisfaction! Thank you!

Ive bought a navy blue velvet (like a david lynch film!) skirt yesterday and through your posts, I can imagine very different ways to wear it! And this is a very cute and kind one! I have a presentation on wednesday, I can use something like this!

And about your ankles/feet... They are actually pretty small... Hahahah, just kidding! You have just wonderful feet! In high school I had the same thing but like this: my ankles are too thin for my legs... Then someone said that it was a really sexy thing :D I don't really remember who said that but I'm really thankful to her/him :D

I think you look cute, lovely, beautiful and sexy by the way, don't ever worry about it... :) Hope it works on you too! :)

Awwww thanks so much for responding to my comment by changing your settings!!! I can now see the whole article in my google reader. Thank you!

I love your outfit, its great, as always. I tried to start a blog as well and I know I have things to say but I'm really bad at a maintaining one. It's tons easier and more fun for me to read everyone else's. Maybe someday I'll continue...

Thanks for coming by my blog! I absolutely adore these shoes! What a great thrifting find! I'm 5'7 and my feet are a size 7.5. My feet are one area of my body that I've never been self-conscious about --that is until I ran my first marathon and my right big toenail turned black. In this cold weather, though, no one sees.

Hi. I LOVE the shoes. The whole outfit is nice. And seriously, your blog has become my favourite fashion blog beside the Sartorialist. Who needs ELLE when we've got you and your blog?!

Thanks for the comment on my Tomboy to woman blog. I just put the promised food post up, including a new "fashion pic".

ROCK ON.

Don't worry your feet are totally in proportion! But do you know I actually have the same fear! Stupid small feet and big legs (all in my head I know)

And I'm totally in love with this outfit, so cute!

thats such a cute outfit, so many little things I like about it I don't know where to begin... I love the beret, I have a little bit of an obsession with berets and have quite a collection going on. The neck scarf is cute and I love the colours. That cardigan looks so versatile and comfy, I like it.

Your blog is gorgeous and I'm following you :)
