and that summer feeling is gonna haunt you one day in your life

All images from "Sisters" a book of photography by David Hamilton.

I don't normally do this.  Post photographs from books or magazines.  Not because I don't appreciate it when others do it, but because its just not my niche.  Others often do it much more eloquently than I do.  But the last leaves have fallen from my trees and winters bite is nearly here and I always get this terribly nostalgic, romantic mood this time of year.  It feels especially strong right now.  When I look at these images they actually make me feel sadder but in a cathartic sort of way.  I have a whole bunch of new photos of things I purchased from thrift stores yesterday, but today, I just feel this.

These photos are incredibly gorgeous! I am glad that you chose to post them! I really need to start looking at books and home goods when I am thrifting, and not just shoes and clothing!

Beautiful photos! What a great pick-me-up! And it's funny that you mention feeling nostalgic. I'm starting to get that itch lately, too. Makes me want to go on a late afternoon drive or something.

wow.... you have no idea what nostalgia i'm also feeling with these photos. Took me back to my childhood.. living in the redwood trees by a river and pond.... that horse that is photographed here is a Norwegian fjord, one of my first pony's actually. My mother was a classic free-spirited hippie of the 60's and 70's and lived in lace and crochet. Thank you for this beautiful post... its worth well worth the trouble even if it isn't your niche per say.
