dirt hole

We have a lot of dirt.  Big piles of it.  It's free of rocks since we sift the rocks out and make piles of rocks as well. Ordered piles made from separated bits of the mixed up chaos of nature. We use the dirt and rocks for random things. Filling holes. Making walls. But this year we left this specific pile of dirt alone.  Well, at least this side of the mound.  Reason being: each hole is actually a nest and home for a special type of bird. I don't know what type of bird it is, but we have deemed them special and therefore will not destroy their little homes. In the evening these holes are so busy with birds flying in and out, but while I was there they all hid inside.  I didn't stay too long. Let them go about their business.

This is an example of introducing new spices into my blog landscape.  A couple of other new spicy endeavors: 1.  I am putting my vintage jewelry and accessories in a boutique today (I'll take pictures and show you the set up) and 2. I am consigning at least a quarter of my vintage clothing (don't worry! I am saving the really good stuff for you! Just consigning the stuff thats not really worth taking the time to photograph and list. It won't really make a dent in my listing schedule, but it will give me a bit more space.)  I am also considering starting a small blog shop here on a separate page for my non vintage clothing, like this silk striped tank. Last time I wore it was new years eve and I probably won't get to it again for another number of months.  So why not just let it go? Expect the blog shop to pop up next week. The page will be next to the "about me" page under my header.

love the graphic tank with the ruggedness of the boots. i am DYING to wear my tall boots but i can't justify sweating like a fiend. as soon as it gets even a little bit cooler, you'll see me in them so much you'll wish i'd take them off! anyway, cool pile of dirt and i love how you're venturing out. i would too but since i live in the middle of town, i'm not quite to the point where i'll drag the tripod out and shoot pics of myself with a few dozen onlookers gawking at me. no, i'll stay on my roof :)

Ahhh I enjoy this lots!
I love your sassy hair like this, it's so fun. these spicing up your life things... WAIT A SECOND, I think it's time to break out into a song:

Spice up your life
Every boy and every girl
Spice up your life
People of the world
Spice up your life, aahh

Slam me to the left
If you're havin' a good time
Shake it to the right
If you know that you feel fine
Chicas to the front
Huh huh and go round

(I had to google. the lyrics and I feel like someone maybe got the "slam me to the left" part wrong... seems a little violent.)

Back to what I was saying, this spicing up sounds great, I'm happy you are getting out of your rut!!

I l-o-v-e that tank! And I also love the tall boots. I, like Amanda, have been dying to bust mine out. Not quite with tights yet, but with dresses and shorts. Unfortunately, I think I may die of heat stroke if I do.

You look lovely. Adore the top on you. Yet you are letting it go! Ah, but that is how it is!

ps. will send the pants probably on Friday or Sunday (so they'll go out Monday). True reason I don't have a blog shop or Etsy shop of my own: I am a total mail procrastinator. Huh "mail procrastinator" sounds dirty, like I'm really saying "male castigator" or something.

Can't wait to see what other stuff you'll put in your shop! That's such a cool top. It really looks awesome against a brown earthy background; the black and white stripes stand out so well. And your hair looks great here too! Love it.

That third shot of you is effing incredible.

As is the blouse.

Which I would totally buy.

Although, it does suit you quite well. Even though I kind of imagined that you had not one new clothing item in your closet (why? I don't know). This is surprising and delightful and really really charming.
