Carpet bag gypsy

Happy weekend!  I gotta go out and get me some of it! Hope you have a nice one too! (and, I had a little extra time to play around with my camera last night so sorry if this is a bit overindulgent! I just really love those boots and wanted to do a proper ODE to them) (Oh and that close pic of my face is untouched and I am only saying that because before, I was chatting about my acne and stuff, but Ladies, the ones who are suffering with zits too, cut out the sugar for two weeks and see what happens.  Its a freaking miracle. No mud, no masks or special creams, just NO CANE SUGAR AT ALL.  Just honey or Agave Nectar or fruit.  Check every label, just for two weeks. After two weeks you if you don't see results, start eating it again and enjoy every freaking minute for me.  I will just be vain and continue to abstain for my clear skin.)

Dress: thrifted
Shorts (just shown): Yup, I am wearing shorts under there so my hoo hoo doesn't show.
boots: gift from a crazy ex-girlfriend
tie belt: thrifted
multi strand gold sash necklace: thrifted (I feel like this is something Merl would have made, but there is no way in hell her things will ever make it to the thrift store. Even if (when) I die, her things are going to somebody in my will)
Carpet bag: vintage thrifted
hat: vintage thrifted

I love the gold chain used as a cross body necklace. With this outfit it's totally reminding me of Indiana Jones! Maybe we'll have to start calling you Indiana Jane (ehhh, that doesn't quite work). And you're right on the boots, they kick ass! Since they're from a crazy ex-girlfriend, at least you got some really great boots out of the situation.

How could you not have fun this weekend wearing such a fabulous outfit! Those boots are gorgeous. So excited to "know" someone else who is such a big fan of Coupling! I agree Jeff leaving was a big loss but my favorite episode is Bed Time from the forth season with Sally singing "Susan the Happy Trotting Elf"! Priceless....

I adore this outfit...every single piece. And thanks for the tip about sugar and acne...I've had way more acne as an adult than as a teen.

Hmmmm no sugar huh?
I have stupid skin issues, face, back, neck. It bothers me (but not enough to cake on all sorts of makeup). It was bad in high school, then in college it was so-so, i tried proactiv, worked kinda for a while.. was too expensive for me so i stopped... it wasnt bad then I started taking birth control, I only realised how good it made my skin look when I got off it and my skin broke out so much. then I went back on it... then off again. (I really can't justify swallowing god knows what every day of my life) So now Ive really considered giong back on the pill to fix my skin... but I cant!! I tried several different soaps/toners/creams all natural from etsy... no miracles there sadly.
I may try this no sugar thing. I can force myself to give up coffee again and have my earl grey & honey in the morning (and continuously through the day). Maybe I need to pay a visit to the natural food store.
Ok you convinced me, I will try it. I think drinking lots of water should make a difference too. damn my sweet tooth.
These pictures are gorgeous, do you use a tripod or a man? :)

Love this look and dare I say it's my favorite from you! I just really love the simple tunic with the wrap belt and chains across the body. Great photos and congrats on clearer skin :)

You are gorgeous inside and out!

All I can say is "Hello Legs!!!" Seriously they look amazing...so tanned and LONG...jealous!!
I;m glad you love Coupling as well (I also own the Box Set)...my friend Brianna (who commented above) introduced me to it (and bought it for me for my Birthday last year)...and ever since I've been in love...and yes I was quite dissapointed that Jeff left...sometimes his scenes were so painful to watch...I'd would just sit there and cringe in embarrassment for him (My favorite of all time was his 30th birthday)...and one episode I can hardly watch is the Girl with 2 legs one because I get SOOO embarrassed for him. Apparently they even tried to make an american version on the show (possibly hoping for the same results as The Office)...but I guess Americans couldn't take the extreme British Humor.

OK and about the Sugar thing...I think that's probably my problem..I'm a sugaraholic...I don't know if I could...it's definatly something I'd like to cut back on...and I guess if it really does work I might have to give it a shot

You look gorgeous Christina! Love those boots! I may have to try the pure cane sugar thing too. I've started using this product called Dermatologica and it actually works really well (it better, for the price!) but maybe I'll do the sugar thing as well...thanks for the tip!

Hi darling! you look like you're going on some kind of awesome adventure in the desert! Actually, a lot of your summery looks have that vibe, I love it :D adventurous, feminine and a bit exotic.

What a fresh look!
very nice.

I have also had very troubled skin my whole life, but I found a product that is miracle cream : ACCEPT by PHYTOMER.
It's expensive ($50/50ml), but worth every penny.

After 20 years of using drug store brands, several pricey fancy brands, ProActiv, and every mask and cream that came my way - this is it!
I only use a tiny bit as my moisturizer at night and pow! clear skin.

I still occasionally feel zits wanting to invade, but they don't evolve. I can feel them, but this stuff somehow calms the skin, so they never erupt or show visible irritation.

Look on the internet - it has nothing but 5 star reviews.

I highly recommend!!!
I was given a sample and it made a difference in like 2 uses, so I RAN to buy some.

oooh so crisp! i love it! i personally believe sugar to be the most damaging substances to our bodies, which is unfortunate as it is so damn delicious. did you know sugar, and all grains actually, have basically the same addictiveness as cocaine? scary!

Seeing as how you are psychic.. I should prolly name that design after you. "The Christina Naked Sexy Time Harness"... has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

You know, I don't like soda or sweets anymore- they make me feel icky... and ever since I've cut down I don't break out on my body like I used to. I bet I have the same affliction! We'll be better off avoiding those foods anyways!

Ohhh dear. I really want to take your advice about cutting out sugar, I'm just afraid that I wouldn't be able to do it. I hatehate my acne, but I also lovelove some sugar.

The shape of your dress is so lovely. And its such a pure white. It screams summer.

Ooh, I am so in love with your dress! Nothing beats white dresses in the summer, and I adore the way you've styled it! Also enjoyed reading your "crazy ex-girlfriend" link, amazing to look back and see how people come into your life full force, and then just as quickly and just as intensely, they're gone. At least you got fantastic boots out of it, though.

Could you do a post of what you eat on a regular day?
I am tempted to challenge myself to do the no sugar thing for the sake of my face, but it would for sure very difficult!

Ok, when I saw this on Saturday I FREAKED out.

I obviously couldn't tell you then, but...

You are so beautiful and serene here. (I may have actually already commented? I don't know...) and you literally have in your hands: the most amazing carpet bag ever to be held. Shall I call it a Magic Carpet Bag? Yes.

And the felted safari hat (I guess?) is killer. Plus, your harness/necklace/accessory wearing ways are other-worldly.

Swoooooooon.
