You remind me of Scarlet Johnansson in the way you talk and your mannerisms. Cute video!

You are so cute! Thanks for the tutorial.. Love the hair... :)

Haha, you are adorable. I have curly hair and it's a little too short right now...when it's longer though, I am definitely trying this. Thanks for posting :)

totally agree about the ScarJo comparison, maybe with some Maggie Gyllenhal thrown in there. Your so cute and you pretty much have the same hair-cutting technique as me, haha. "I just sort of...cut into it."

I love your top too, btw.

You are soo cute! If I had hair, I would cut it...as it is, my hair is too short right now...but I would definitely try your method!

yay self-haircutters of the world unite. that reminds me, i need to take some scissors to my hair tonight!

You are adorable! I'm tempted to try it, but I usually wear my hair much straighter, so I'm not sure. It looks awesome on you though! I've touched up shorter layered cuts on myself in the past, and I agree on the 'cutting in' technique :)

tess said...

My hair isn't long enough for this, bur I really love your layering

And it's so great to hear your voice, I must admit it is a lot lower than I thought it would be, but you're sweet and warm as ever in this video :)

Congratulations on your new YouTube channel! i just subscribed to yours (i have a YouTube channel too). What a treat seeing you on video. Love reading your blog. Please be careful with those scissors! Love the blouse.

you are adorable! i love the way you talk!
actually, i cut my own hair and i have REALLY straight hair but i tried your method and really liked it!
so...thanks!

I want to hug you. Not in a bad way. More in a you're so stinkin' sweet way. I love this video. It's really great to see more of your personality.

So fun to hear your voice and, as the previous poster said, see more of your personality! You are so great...I wish we could just go out for cocktails!

Thanks so much for the hair tips...my hair is shorter and curlier, but I've been trying to get my bangs thicker and this gave me some new ideas to try. Kinda makes me want to grow my hair out again too!

You're so cute and you have a lot of guts! I could never do it, my hair is way too thin and straigt. Your hair looks really great! And you remind me of scarlett Johansson, too!

you make this look so easy! i don't even like buzzing my husband's hair and i don't think it's even possible to mess that up! i know everyone is saying you remind them of someone and stuff but you really remind me of my best friend growing up. i didn't really realize it until i heard your voice, but you sound like her and your face is about the same shape and everything! it makes me like you even more now!! sorry, gosh you are going to get so tired of me.

Unknown said...

I always cut my own hair as well! Mine is pretty much straight though, but I still just "cut into it", and it works really well. great video, you have a wonderful voice. :)

Hannah | The Outfit Repeater said...

Ha, I also thought you reminded me of Scarlet Johansson, but I've never thought that by looking at your photos. Hmm.. (that is not a bad thing, you are both gorgeous ladies)

I absolutely love this tutorial!! You have such a real person approach to cutting hair. I've been cutting my own bangs for the longest time, so it's pretty neat to know how to do layers! My biggest thing is I'm always afraid of cutting. I definitely think when my hair gets longer I will try your layering technique! Thank you for the video. :)

Jules said...

I was just thinking of cutting my own hair. I've only done bangs before. Maybe I'll test it out. Couldn't hurt - it's just hair. And yes, your voice and mannerisms remind me of Scarlett Johansson too.

Sydney said...

I so agree with everyone who says you remind them of Scarlett Johansson! I was thinking that the whole time. Watching this made me want to try it so badly, but I think my hair is too short for it! :( Awesome video!

I follow your blog from Germany. I´ve been reading it for close to EVER - and I love it!
I watched this video not cause I care about haircutting (my hair is short :-))but because I was wondering what kinda person you are in the real world ;-. You are so cute, whish I could hang out with you all day and spree through vintage-shops!!! Come to Europe so we can meet ;-)

Oh crap--I don't have speakers on my new computer here at work, I can't hear a thing! I have to try viewing this at home on my crappy computer that barely can handle videos. I may never get to see this in a proper viewing situation...aaaaah! somehow I've made it half way thru w/out any sound though, I already like what I see going on...maybe I'll just keep watching and try to read your lips so I know what you're saying.

:) Hi! I'm new here! Love your style!

I just wanted to chime in with a warning for the straight-haired gals in agreement with what you said. This will not work on stick-straight hair. I've tried. It looked very sad and unfortunate and mushroom-y. :( But perfect for waves.

Love your hair!

Tanvi said...

I would never have the confidence to do this ... but you do it so well! :)

Seval said...

Hah! If I had any hair left, I'd exactly do that while watching it and my hair is very straight but I trust you! I'm so happy to see you talking and doing your things... Love you...

Kimberellie said...

so cool!! I always cut my own hair too! If it is ever long enough I'll have to try this.

also, I was just thinking the other day how I have NO IDEA what any blogger's voices are like. And then I thought about you specifically and how I imagined your voice to be. I was so dead wrong! ha! I wonder if I sound like what people think I sound like?

Brianna said...

you are too cute. my hair is wavy and straight, hairdressers even have a hard time with it, otherwise i would give your tutorial a go (would be spending money every couple months).

Congrats on your fist video, great job! I wish I had a head of hair like yours, unfortunately, I've got fine straight hair. It would be fun to see before and after photos from all these nice ladies sending a post saying they'll give your technique a try. ATTAWAYTOGO!

myedit said...

Thanks for the inside look at the magic!!!!

Unknown said...

You did so good! I love getting to see you do what you are so great at! I've got the dreaded super straight hair and so I'm definitely not sure if this tutorial is for me. But I loved it either way!

Amanda said...

This was such a good and quite cute video Christina. (I especially enjoyed the whole "unicorn" part!) In the most non-creeperish sounding way, I like to actually be able to see and hear my favorite bloggers! You're mannerisms and everything are just like how I imagined!

Sara said...

Omg you are so cute! You sound like Scarlet Johansson when you talk! lol I really want to try this, I have wavy hair but it is really thin, what do you think?

Emma said...

Ahhh, I love, love, love your voice. You're adorable.

Thanks for the tutorial!

Fia Kilbourn said...

You're so cute! You're hair looks great. It's so awesome that you can do it yourself.

vanessa S said...

amazing!! you cut you hair yourself and the result is so cute! (sorry for my english i'm french!)

Randi said...

Hey lady! I have read your blog forever but this is my first comment! First off, I am a hairstylist and I think you did a fabulous job even though us stylists hate to promote home cuttting ;) But one suggestion if you want to blend the bottom layers to the top a little just pull bottom sections straight up and point cut at the same length as the top panel! Voila... more layers toward the bottom!

Anonymous said...

holy cute!!!!! Your so adorable,

I tried this cut while I was stuck in a hotel in London (i.e. really bad scissors, bad lighting, small working space...) there were some tears at first but now there's nothing but love for it. Amazing video, can't wait to see more!

Your voice isn't at all what I was expecting but it makes me like you even more (weird? sorry!) :)

Thanks for the tutorial! I've been cutting my own hair for 2 years but definitely don't have a good system like you do

Kristi said...

This was so helpful! After watching this I was kind of inspired, and then realized that my hair needed a trim. I've never cut my hair by myself before, but I think it turned out well!
My hair is super curly and it's shoulder length, so I just needed more layers, since my old layers were growing out and into the triangle danger zone.

Anyways, thanks so much for posting this!!

Snappy-Q said...

First, very brave of you to do a video! I am way to shy to even imagine posting that, but you rocked it. I like that you were just yourself, so sweet.
Second, I just may try this, it totally made sense to me, and I have wavy hair too, so it could work.
Your blog is one of my faves because your personality and style, just shine right through.

So...just finished cutting my hair and I must say it looks pretty bomb.com! Thank you so much for posting the video. It was perfect.

rinacatastrophe said...

I am definitely going to try this! My hair is slightly wavy, but thin, although I have a lot of it. I hope it works! If not, well, its just hair, it grows.
P.S. I can agree with everyone on this video being probably the most adorable tutorial ever.

Well, I didn't do the whole technique, but I DID use your cutting in technique to trim my ends! Worked well and doesn't look chopped!

The Jazzy Belle said...

fun little video.. cheers to you for doing it! You have a cool voice and cool hair.. i could never chop my own like that.. it's straight as a board most of the time. I have cut bangs several times though. Your hair always looks great so keep on doing it girl!

wow you are really brave! love your hair

Oh gosh, you truly are beautiful inside and out. I love your personality and wow, I can't believe how many people thought of Scarlet Johannsson - I was thinking that the entire time! Definitely with a lot of Maggie G. in there. You're just lovely.

totally just fell harder for you. damn woman... so charming.

You are toooooo cute, lady! I love people who cut their own hair. Yours is darling, and so are your mannerisms. Keep on being awesome :).
