Little bit country, or kinda a lot

I have been wanting to take pictures by these hay stacks for a pretty long time, but I was worried that they would seem a little too country or something.  Its like I would have to dress urban city chic to make these hay bales look cool and ironic for photos, but oddly enough, maybe I am a little country.  I mean, I was THRILLED to find this cropped muumuu dress, thrilled, like it was the freaking highlight of my shopping trip and when the lady at the counter asked me "so what, are you just gonna lay around the house in this?" I excitedly exclaimed "No!! I am going to belt it and add boots and this little green hat and I have this place I have been wanting to take pictures at and I think this will be just perfect!" She thinks I am on drugs. Its like I just expect that everyone knows about fashion blogging and gets why I am such a spaz sometimes.  Oh well, so I wore my muumuu, belt boots and hat (which in hind sight seems a little bit too dark actually) and trekked over to these hay bales and took some ironically true country photos.  That's how I roll.  I think I could easily citify this dress, and maybe I will someday, but sometimes it just feels nice to go with what comes naturally.

{EDIT:  Thanks to a few of my sharper readers (sharper than me anyway!), a few of my misspellings or improper words ( Bales not Bails, and Muumuu not Moo Moo) now have now been fixed.  Thank you for catching my errors! I feel so foolish when I get corrected but I am so thankful that you take the time to tell me since that is the only way I will learn!}

On a completely different note, I would seriously like to thank Diptea,  AnnieFiaNookie,  Delightfully TackyMBeeSkinny BuddhaStyle Nuggets, and Stylish Kids in Riot for nominating me for Blogger Spotlight at Independent Fashion Bloggers!  It is a really great honor to be nominated by these bloggers and to be in the spotlight for a minute! I think they are posting an interview on IFB today and when I get the link I will add it here.  Also, you can nominate next week's Blogger Spotlight Here.

Congratulations! The first thing i wondered when seeing you modeling that pretty dress (love the colour) was whether you own and ride horses. i know it's unrelated to the fashion blogging you're so good at, but it does look like it might be good country for riding. Your photos are beautiful.

Pretty dress!

PS...it's hay "bale." A bail is the hanging loop for a necklace pendant...

love the color of the mumu

I know what you mean about people not understanding blogging I'm planning on visiting Lexie soon and I occasionally tell my IRL friends I'm going down to Illinois to meet a fellow blogger, they think I am nuts and too trusting haha. But this is such a great atmosphere and I have proven Lexie is a real girl, so it's not that unnerving, but I guess IRL people will never get it

So excited for your interview! AND YES to this dress! Love the colour on you. And the photos are great. And you are clever and funny and lovely as always!

Also, I can SO SEE you saying all that to the saleslady. I imagine you must be very chatty in real life! I am glad I am not the only one who talks on and on to perfect strangers (I know I've said more than once in my life that exact thing: they/she/he must think I'm on drugs) :-)!

I love that you chatter to complete strangers just like I do. ALWAYS. even when I actively try to stop myself.

Loving the bales/bails.. I'm no "country" speller so I wouldn't even have known if you didn't correct yourself. So, in conclusion, I like your hay location and look. :)

Congrats! I was so excited when I opened their email and saw that you were featured!

Thrift store clerks always think I'm crazy for buying some of the stuff I do. Just today, the clerk was telling me how she didn't like some of the stuff I bought! She just doesn't understand... ;]

I'm sorry I'm so late in congratulating you, it's been on my to-do list but you know how life gets.

Either way, congratulations, you're amazing and you definitely deserve it.
