Texas Swinger

And no I don't mean that I am a swinger from Texas.  Though, if everything is bigger in Texas, would that make me a Very BUSY swinger, or just really good at it, or what?  I don't really know any Texans so if you are from there maybe you can explain all of that to me!  NO, ANYWAY, by Texas Swinger, I am simply referring to the label on this darling little vintage dress I just got from Barefoot Vintage!  I don't actually shop at vintage shops very much, since I prefer the hunt and price ranges the Thrift Stores offer, but I won Paige's giveaway which entitled me to 25% off an item from her shop AND a free vintage scarf! There were plenty of sweet things to choose from, but this little halter swinger had my name all over it!! I am thinking the label must actually refer to either a tennis or golf swing (by a Texan, so Probably a HUGE, or really good one right?), or country swing dancing (from Texas).  I so badly wanted to go with Cowboy boots or completely sporty prep, but this mix of trench and heeled oxfords sort of turns down the vibes of either persuasion I think.

Oh and I am really happy to be getting all of these outdoor shots, but it makes sunglasses an absolute must since I am like a little Mole Person.  I try to take one or two without the shades and my eyes just close up!  Oh well.  Its nice to get out of the studio for a spell.  Plus, I am kinda excited about these Donald Trump Aviators that I found at Ross for $6!  So silly and sort of 80's!

Please keep giving me contact info for either your blog or Etsy shop on my post from Saturday.  I am seriously thinking this Etsy Shop Registry Blog would be great and we can give tips and updates, do like giveaways or what not, and all that jazz.  I had a lot of people interested and I think others (who maybe don't read my blog regularly!!) may be into it too (I guess I would have to contact them!)  OK Cool.  Also, I am not Super Amazingly creative with names or anything so if you folks that want to participate have any ideas, throw them out there!

The photos you pose for outdoors are beautiful. The dress you are modeling looks like it would be fun to wear to a dance (not that I know much about dancing - I just used to watch a TV show called "Club Dance once in a while and am imagining how the dress would move. Pretty.

I absolutely love your outdoor shots! They bring so much life to your outfits! Even if you have to wear sunglasses.

I think your registry idea sounds pretty cool, and if I ever start up an Etsy shop, I'll definitely let you know!

Haha, when you left me that comment, I thought maybe you were going to have a post about reasons why you hated Texas or something!

Everything is bigger in Texas is derived from the fact that it's the biggest state in the continental U.S. Seriously, it pretty much takes and entire day to drive across it! There are SO MANY industries here and people like things big! Trucks, ladies love big hair, etc. It's just so vast here. We aren't actually bigger than anyone and don't use bigger size glasses or golf clubs, hehe.

arg, soooo jealous of these outdoor shots! i'm in england right now and missing the amazing ny weather while i freeze out here! grrr. sorry i didn't get back sooner. so, i'm not totally a one woman show. i have a tailor and a partner who help me. the etsy shop is more of just a hobby cuz i work in vintage/fashion professionally. it's fun to play dress up, but i never have enough time and energy to do as much online as i'd like. the vintage groups are great, but again, i'd like to participate more than i do. maybe someday. but i'd recommend joining since you might be better at being involved.

so, what is this etsy shop registry blog yr thinking of doing? sounds like a grand idea!

Oh, I LOVE this look. And it IS so perfect with the trench and oxfords. You have such effortless and amazing style! Oh, and I am interested in joining/helping out with the registry thing (not entirely sure what you are proposing, but regardless, I'm in!).

I am going to be starting a blog shop soon to sell some of my finds that I can't help but compulsively buy!!

Oh,and would you be interested in being my "Blog obsession of the week"? I would need to put a pic up of you and a link to your blog on my blog.

Because I'm, like, so obsessed. ;-)

I really love this outfit! I think because it reminds me of easy-breezy dresses I wore when I was little, all grown up. The trench makes it feel really spring, too. Gorgeous :)
