simple strategy

I have decided that I am photographing all of my pics in the evening now instead of before I run off in the morning.  My previous routine of getting ready, popping into the studio for some shots by the dress form, and going on with the day meant posting the appropriate outfit of that day, but also meant posting later in the morning and with a boring, always the same background.  If I get my shots in the evening I am not hurried, can crop and prep the shots in the lull of the evening and post very early in the a.m.  Pics will always be from the day before from now on!  Good plan!  Plus, I freaking LOVE my new camera in every way possible and I love getting sunset shots so much!  Its a really nice excuse to get outside right in time for the golden hour!

I am prepping a full product and skin care post for tomorrow.  I have been getting some questions about skin and legs and whatnot (here and on my question form) and I think it is important for me to tell you that my legs never used to see the light of day.  I have said it before here, but to reiterate, all of these shorts and skirts and things are a relatively new thing for me.  Since last summer I have discovered some really cool maintenance strategies that have made it easier for me to bare my legs.  I will share.  And I am not saying I am the shit or anything like that, just wanting to tell you about what works for me.

I am looking forward to a very productive week! Hope you are feeling energized too!

This is beautiful. I am loving the outdoor shots, especially with your new golden hair. It definitely brings out some awesome colors.

About not being rushed while taking, editing, and posting photos - I totally know what you mean. I find that if I put aside time when I won't be in a hurry, I enjoy blogging so much more. It doesn't feel like a chore or a job then. That is how it should be - fun.

I love that your getting outside to take these pics! And you live in such a beautiful area, why not take advantage of it. The new hair color is great with these outdoor shots as well!
I'm so happy to see how much this whole 'place' is shifting, changing, and developing. Great.

I love evening photos. The light's nice and even and has a wonderful glowy, ethereal quality.

I can't wait to read about your skin-care routine. After a winter of tights, leggings, and boots, my legs could use some help!

I've really been liking the recent sunset posts! Sunset really is the most flattering light of the day (not that you don't always look great!) I'm totally digging the jean shorts here. I've been contemplating taking the plunge but I feel like I'm too old for them!! But it looks like they're coming back in full force this season, so I might just have to jump on board. At least at American Eagle prices I wouldn't be fully committed if it doesn't work out!

But...but you are the shit.

Seriously, your legs are awesome. I'm more than a little jealous, and I'm psyched for these tips.

The light's so gorgeous in the evening, good call on doing the shots then.

Okay, Christina, I am going to have to correct you: you are the shit. Yes. Indeed. You are. You're awesome. And also WOW. Not only do I LOVE this outfit (and will steal the look exactly, yes, only with a blue striped shirt instead-really, I will) but also WOW do you look gorgeous in these pics. I think it might be the lipstick, or the blonde hair, or the fact that you ARE beautiful. Possibly all three.

I find the afteroon sun to be so much more forgiving. These shots have you glowing! And while I actually really dug the way your clothes were the only changing element with your previous background, I feel like we'll get to see some really amazing shots of you now. :)
