I never wear jeans anymore

I have noticed I never wear jeans anymore.  I have a hard time finding them the right size and fit at thrift stores (plus sometimes they can be a little worn in the wrong kinds of ways if you know what I 'm sayin) and I can't justify paying lots of money for them since I wear skirts dresses and shorts all year long anyway.  I have my few pairs, like these Levis that I bought Years ago, but they just don't look that great on me.  Giving them a little shot today, though I think I should actually just cut all my jeans into shorts and just be done with them all together.

The pictures below are from yesterday.  Yesterdays pictures were from a dress up session the day before because yesterday I was working at the high school again.  I am collaborating with the screen printing class on a redesign project of thrift store items.  I took a class of 35 students to a local thrift store, they all had $5 each and could buy whatever they could, scarves, textiles, clothes, to deconstruct, sew back together, and screen print on to make something cool and new.  The kids are really into the project!  Even the boys!   In fact that middle picture features a shirt that was made by Chase.  He put fur on the collar and sewed a tie around the collar and to the shirt.  He had it all wrinkley and stuff and calls it the "the Lazy Man's business shirt"  So conceptual and creative!  Wrinkles and all!!    My girls Tawnie and Danielle took that first picture of me standing in the high school hall!  Thats them in the last pic!  Thanks girls!! I am working there again next week and I can't wait!

I know what you mean about jeans. After wearing tights all year round, now that I was wearing my jeans it felt too constricting. But I might have to get used to it because of the dropping temperature.

Love the jeans, they look like boyfriend fit jeans!

What a great thing to do with high-schoolers, I hope you share some photos of their work. I actually want to try this kind of project now!

what a fun time you all are having! I love that "lazy man business shirt"! Super creative. I wish when I was in high school we had things like this.

I think you look great in the jeans. That being said, you seem MUCH more comfortable in skirts and shorts.

I think it is GREAT that you work with a high school class! I am currently going to school to be a teacher, although I want to eventually teach at a university. Isn't so awesome to be able to inspire and help kids learn?! I love it!

Your job sounds so fun! Love the lazy man business shirt!

Great jeans look too. The blazer and stripey top make the perfect casual look.

I LOVE this outfit! The jeans and the jacket and the stripes, fantastic! I'm even digging the socks with snadals. Even if you're more comfortable wearing other things, these jeans look great, and I love the colours in the outfit. And the project sounds like tons of fun.

1. I think we need to thrift together. It would be an ultimate adventure!
2. Um...how cool of a teacher are you?
3. You need to wear jeans more, so pretty!

your job is amazing, i can see why you want to return each week! i love when you talk about your job; seeing all these potential is so stimulating and joyful.

i know what you mean about jeans, they're impossible!

the stripes and scarf are so chic together with the blazer and i love the toned down look with the socks+sandals.

i hope the issue with the readers is resolved but i can't figure out why you had trouble in the beginning :( thank you so much for your comments, they mean a lot to me because i don't really fit in where i am.

O.k,
1. Hold onto those jeans! PLease don;t cut them or you'll regret it o.k?
2. Loved your outfit at the school. I will need to copycat that look! Oh if I can only pull it off as great as you so. (cursing my super short legs)

3. Those kids have fantastic ideas and it makes me so happy to hear that the younger generations aren't all that doomed as I may have thought.

Both of your outfits are adorable!

And the project at the high school sounds so neat. I can't wait to do stuff like that once I learn to sew.

I really like that jacket you're wearing in your first pictures. I think that whole outfit works really great. I'm wanting to copy you now, ha ha. Thanks for sharing. :D

The striped outfit is just perfect. I love everything about it.

And I'm not a jeans person either, but I wore some today. Must be in the air.

What a cool project!

If you want to get rid of your jeans and you have a dog, I have this book of projects with recycled materials and one of them is how to make a dog bed out of jeans!

I really like jeans...especially the way you were wearing them. Apparently jeans are supposed to be highwaters nowadays and I have to admit it looks cool. Screen printing both intrigues and scares the poo out of me. I have to take an intro class for my major.

Those jeans look great on you -- hang onto them! Your shorts look is lovely too -- so easy and looks comfy!
That project looks like so much fun! What a creative shirt.

I feel ya on the jeans shopping -- I never really buy jeans at thrift stores or anywhere else anymore because the fit is so hard to find, and why would I struggle and wrestle with a pair when the lovely, floaty skirts and dresses aisle is just three feet away? :) - JoAnn, Sidewalk Chalk

i'm with you on just cutting all my jeans into shorts since after i discovered the genius behind wearing tights under everything, my jeans are untouched! despite this, i think you look so adorable in jeans and don't think you should cut up this particular pair! it's a pair of great boyfriend jeans and looks so great with that striped top and blazer (: love it!

I love the lazy man's business shirt!! well, the leopard collar is maybe a bit too OTT for my taste :D but otherwise it's just so perfect, I'd love to wear something like that myself too!

And I don't wear jeans often either, blue jeans are just so ordinary :D I've got one black pair though that I wear sometimes, and soon two as I just finished a while ago high-waisted black jeans at school. When I get them back from evaluation I'm definitely going to wear them a lot!

i know what you mean about jeans, I can never find second hand ones that look the way I want but can't bring myself to part with £200 + for new ones.

I love the way you've styled the second outfit - the made a cute outfit extra special and I am seriously coveting your boots!

I'm totally the opposite! I wear jeans waaaay too much - must be braver. In fact, I'm doing a style challenge based on this idea next week.

I love the shots of you with your students. You look quite different when you're not doing your pose. (which I LOVE, by the way. It's not robotic at all!!) :) xx

I have to say, I really like the different ways that you wear your scarves. I have a million scarves, but I only really know 2 or 3 ways of wearing them but you seem to have endless scarf-wearing techniques. Love it!

Okay, I'm going to close my eyes and wish and hope for a striped shirt to just appear in my closet... I don't think that will work. You look stunning C, I'm working on e-mailing you back today.

I love that you get to work with high school kids. And I'm trying out cut offs and tights TO-DAY. You've given me way too much inspiration!

Oh my gosh. Let me just say i'm obsessed with your collar! unless i'm seeing things, i'm pretty sure I see a leopard fur collar--pure genius! you're such an inspiration!

I love your striped men's shirt, so great! And, that's such a wonderful project for school. I've taught kids before and it can be so challenging to find a project that will inspire everyone, and you have that talent! Annie.

I love both outfits! I rarely wear pants anymore too, which is so strange because all I wore for 20 years of my life was pants.

Loving the boots with the tall socks. Perfect!

Tell Chase that shirt is completely awesome. I would pay money for that - if I actually had money:)
