did you even want to know?

I have been receiving a lot of questions via email and wanted to post a little info so that you don't even have to ask.  If you are completely uninterested, I am very sorry, but if you are, I hope the below information helps:

The camera I use is just a little Sony Cybershot.  It is 12.1 mega pixels.  I set it up on a tripod that is roughly hip high and 4 feet away from me.  This makes both my torso and legs appear longer, like an optical illusion.  I take my pictures at a pretty large size and I always frame them so that I don't have to crop.   I have a lot of natural in the room I have set up for this, and I spent time deciding how I wanted the overall aesthetic of my images to be.  I wanted a signature look that would make me easily Identifiable in a crowd so I chose to include the dress form which also acts as an anchor for my positioning and gives the camera something to focus on when I set the timer.

Once the pictures are taken (usually 6 or so) I load them onto my computer. I have little mac book (the lower priced one) but it comes with an iphoto program that allows me to adjust the exposure, contrast, saturation and tint (among other things that I never touch) Since I rarely use the flash, I always push up the exposure to make the images glow slightly, push up the contrast so my darker clothes and features pop, ease up the saturation slightly, and just touch the tint to make it a little warmer.  Once the pictures are adjusted, I move them to a blog folder on my desktop, resize them for easier loading on to the internet and then put them in my blog.

I got this dress out thrifting last week and am so super excited about it!  Can't wait to wear it this summer with brown belts and sandals and fedoras!  I am also wearing my Dolly and Boy necklace again (I swear its like I haven't taken it off!)  She has other designs like bees and feathers and shells and branches, all made from melted bullet shells, so if you are so inclined, go check her shop out!   so cool.

Always to interesting to hear how various bloggers deal with their photos. Natural light is the BEST, isn't it?

Those booties are just adorable - love 'em with the belt!

I also have a macbook that I edit my photos on. Have you ever tried using the "enhance" button. I find that many times it does an excellent job of making my photos how I want them to be with the click of just one button. This was hard for me to try out though, because I like the control I normally would have over each element. Nevertheless, you should give it a shot if you haven't.

I love the blue on you. Its amazing.

Very helpful. I'm always interested in people's photo tips because I hate taking my own pictures and they never turn out quite so lovely.

Amazing dress. That is one of my favorite colors, and I'm even wearing it myself today!

Great photo tips! I'm still trying to figure out the photos on my site. It also sucks that the sun goes down so early at this time of year. So no pictures after work ...if I want natural light.

Your photo process is almost identical to mine, yet yours are always so clear and lovely! I think the lack of natural light really ruins mine. Oh well - here's to summer and longer daylight hours!

Love that aquamarine colour against your dark hair. :)

Ooh a tripod! Definitely going onto my wishlist. Right now the best I can do is look for a welcoming set of stairs on which I place my camera at the top of!

That dress is a really interesting color. I like it...it pops. And I wish I could use as much natural light as you use. I can't find any in this cramped little apartment.
