Ex-Work Party

I used to work for this non profit arts organization helping to put together Art Exhibitions, Artist's Visits, Lectures and Arts in Education Programs in the schools.   I resigned in April of this year (for complex reasons) but They are having a christmas party tonight and a HUGE part of me really wants to go to socialize, catch up and relive the good old days, but another half of me feels a little weird about it.  I am not sure if I am going to go, but if I do I will wear this outfit. This dress is vintage and originally came down to below my knees!  I did a hem job on it before my hemming class yesterday (which went really well by the way!) but learned that I had done it correctly anyway!  I hemmed a couple of other dresses yesterday to in the same fashion!  I can't wait to wear them and show you!

Also, THANK YOU all SOOOO much for your comments!  You have no Idea how much they mean to me! (well maybe you do because you are mostly all bloggers!) I am always just so excited when I get comments, my husband makes fun of me because I literally squeal when I see that I have some!  Answers to some questions : yes urban outfitters on the hat from last post, I have been with my husband for 10 years, married 7, I would be more than happy to cut your hair, and I have super big crushes on you too!  I wish I could be more timely about getting over and replying to you, but my son HATES me to be online so I only get little snibbits of time to come say hi! I like to carve some out a few times a week.  He is nagging me right now so gotta go!  So see you soon!

Wow, first, if you ever decide to sell this dress, please let me know :) You look gorgeous... Second, if you don't have bad feelings to each other, i think you should go and have some time with them! Your son will not be happy for that but you need some time yourself :)

See you!

Wow! You are a mom? I think you are by FAR the coolest mom I have ever met! (does it qualify as "meeting" if we are just fellow bloggers?) Sounds like your son keeps you busy!

This looks great! I love the purple tights and belt with it, and I swear, you just wear a hat so well!

Thanks for popping over and saying hi at academichic, I really appreciate it given your post about your time restrictions. Just don't stop blogging, I'm too excited to have discovered your site and can't wait to see more of your style!

that dress is great, but i especially love how you rocked the beret the colored tights with it! you look like you belong on the artsy streets of montmartre right now. and i agree with the above commentor- i hope when i am a mom i am as cool and gorgeous as you!

ps: SO funny that you mentioned maggie gyllenhaal, every time i go in to get my hair done (by the hairdresser who is still trying to give me the look i want- yours basically) anyways, there is this one hair dresser who tells me EVERY time, "hey, has anyone ever told you that you look like maggie gyllenhaal??..."

ya. you did. the lasat 4 times i have been here.

haha awesome.

If you did go to the party, you would have gone looking great! Purple and navy make good neighbours, I say.
And about your comment about my use of the term hipsters... I use it as a neutral term, neither good nor bad, just... not me.
