anything in Vegas

Vegas is pretty fun.  I am not sure I could ever live here since its pretty overstimulating, but for this weekend, I can deal with some crazy.  The conference we came here for starts tomorrow, and so will my attempts and looking professional, but today we will probably hit the pool again and do some shopping. I   have been looking for a good excuse to try this scarf/ shirt and skirt combo.  I just folded the scarf in half to create a triangle, tied the back and tucked the loose ends under, then tucked the front of the triangle into a high waisted skirt.  I think the cut out in the back look is sort of cute, and in Vegas, just about anything flies.

love the scarf! I think another one of my favorite outfits involved a scarf wrapped as a top.

This looks very cute! Also, I totally agree about Vegas- good for a few days, but I get way too overstimulated after that.

I've been trying to play with a scarf to wear it as a top, but since I'm breastfeeding my options are limited. I like how you tied yours. That skirt is cute, too.

That is a very pretty pattern on the scarf you so skillfully and creatively wore as a blouse in these photos. If you hadn't written it i never would have guessed it was a scarf. The skirt has a cute line to it too. You look happy. Don't forget the sun-block. Hope you have a great conference.

I definatly love this!!..I've been toying with the idea of trying a scarf as a top as well..but I wasn't sure how to wear it without looking like a teeny bopper from the late 90's...(when backless shirts were the rage amoungst 13-16 year old girls)...but I love how chic this looks..and mature!!

I think it looks adorable! I used to do the scarf-shirt thing until I sprouted D-cups---boo hiss on modesty. Have fun, gah-geous.

what a tasteful way to wear a scarf as a top because you know how very wrong it could go... :) you look lovely as always dear!

sadly i have c cups and short torso so i have neither the body type nor the confidence to pull this off.
not a lot of people could pull off using a scarf as a top but you nail the look very tastefully (: very awesome.

out of curiosity did you use a bra while sporting this or nip slips?

Love this look. I adore all these cool trench skirts you seem to have (at least two?). I am going to have to try the scarf thing. It would show off my back tattoo and that is always a plus.

Oh, and I don't think my comment on your yesterday's post worked (somebody little was sitting on my lap and pressing buttons). But more than anything I wanted to mention WOW you look super fine with blond blond hair and that awesome lbd!!!

I think it's an absolutely adorable and darling and creative idea! I used to wear scarves as tops and skirts and sometimes even dresses (with a lot of wardrobe malfunctions) and you are making me nostalgic for wearing scarves as clothing because it's so fun and so pretty!

Good to know that anything flies in Vegas. I'm headed there next weekend and I feel like its always so hard to pack for a new city! Love the scarf as a shirt - you look really pretty in it!

Christina, you are wayyyy braver than I am for using a scarf as your top! It looks amazing on you though! I would be too afraid of the girls deciding to do what they want or something very random happening (very random things happen to me alot...like today when a truck in front of me had lawn chairs in the back on his car on the highway and they flew out right in front of me!)

Love what you did with the scarf! Its very Vegas. I know what you mean about living there. I grew up there and would never go back to the craziness! xoxo

I lived there for 9 years (college, grad school, in between) and sort of miss the anything goes fashion sense! Part of it is the weather, I think. Sometimes it's too damn hot to care. Plus the scantily clad billboards, strippers, tourists, celebrities make it acceptable to wear next-to-nothing. So if you think you're skirt is too short? Or shirt cut too low? You're wrong, at least in Vegas.

Ooo you are outside of Japonaise! Good place...well the one in Chicago is at least.

What conference are you attending? My industry has a boatload of conferences in Vegas but I am not sure if one is going on right now. I have never seen you mention what you do for a living.

Very cute outfit! And perfect timing, weatherwise since it is warming up here. Keep enjoying your trip!

I love how you made that into a shirt! The last time I was able to do that, I was in middle school! haha. But you, my dear, are tiny and pull it off so well!

Perfection! Another cool thing to wear is a short sarong as a top! Or, I wear table linens as tops, too!!! Isn't fashion fun !!!
