I love blog girls

So, when I packed for this trip I wasn't really sure how complicated the travel and flights would end up, so my husband and I decided to keep our packing down to just one suitcase.  I got half and he got half.  It the interest of space then, I limited myself to just two coats (one light, one heavy) three shoes (heeled boots, flat slip on boots boots, lace up boots) and two hats (one I wore on the plane so it wouldn't crush and a knitted one).  These items I understood were the most important parts because they DEFINE the silhouettes of all of my outfits. A whole week of the same silhouette, in New York, during Fashion Week, AND trying to dress differently each day, gets a little old.  So I ended up buying THE BARE MINIMUM to change the shape of my look.  I got this cape at H&M and although you can't see well, I only belted it in the front and let it drape in the back. The pictures don't really do the thing justice, but oh well.  I put it over a long sweatshirt, OVER the dress from Saturday. Some skinny jeans and mini Walgreens leg warmers and thats all.

I hadn't fallen asleep till 4:00 am the night before due to, I don't really know, the energy and anticipation of spending the day with Mel maybe!  I just couldn't sleep! So I was pretty exhausted on Monday but still so happy to first meet up with her at a little Vegan cafe downtown, then, to pop over to Williamsburg JUST TO SEE what this Beacons Closet was all about!  It was all about coolness.  I bought just a couple of things before running out of steam and money, but the highlight of the day was just sitting and talking with Mel after.  It is so nice to actually have the time to sit and talk to someone I have so much in common with. She is Truly, a very genuine person.  Thank you so much for the whole day Mel!

I feel so sad that all of the very brief meetings I was able to have with so many girls I met were just that, SO painfully brief and usually over so much noise! I have a hard time hearing in general and rely so much on facial expressions, so when things are loud and dark, I may as well just smile and nod! I think the hardest part is getting just a glimpse of proof that YES, I know I would be friends with these girls, but, Dangit. . . I may not be able to ever sit across from them for 3 hours to really establish roots.  Does that make sense? I just feel like all of you girls in blog world are my kind of people. And I am sort of an oddball, so, Ya, whatever that means.  I mean I don't think we are odd, but just not in abundance.  Alright, I am sort of digging a hole here.   I LOVE BLOG GIRLS.

COMMENT OF THE DAY: UM YES!! This would be so perfect for us blog girls since it takes a little bit sometimes for us to not be so shy!

You look so gorgeous in all your outfits. I adore that cloche!
It would be so awesome if there was some sort of bloggers retreat at a pretty cabin in the woods, where we could all hang out and get to know each other and shop at cute little antique and vintage shops. Sigh.

I know how you feel hon! Apart from my sister I don't know anyone else in real life who cares about fashion and clothes as much as me. It sounds cheesy but blogging kind of makes me feel like I have all these kindred spirits...

Glad you are having fun in NYC!You may not have packed much but you packed smart with basics & one of a kind hats, vintage boots & dresses. And you should always leave a bit of room for shopping , esp beacon's. love all your looks.

Fantastic outfit. I don't know how you do it, but you really have a knack for putting outfits together that work.

And you seem to be lucky with the weather too. I'm a bit jealous.
Enjoy the rest of your stay and have a good flight back.

it's been so fun (and kind of voyeuristic) to see you and all these gals together, collectively, on your and their blogs, all mish-mashed together with different perspectives!

I just read Mel's post on this! You guys look great.

I totally agree, I'd love to meet just ONE of the blog girls I follow because I know we'd be instant friends! The blogging world is so great, a whole network of people you have so much in common with and already feel like you know.

Ahhh... I felt the same way! I wished everything could've been a little more low key and less noisy! We couldn't even talk in the conference or mingle since it was so tight in there.

Thanks sounds like such an amazing trip!

I definitely can't deny being odd. I hope I get the chance to meet some of you at some point, but I think I might die of nervousness beforehand.

A little bit of shopping is a must when you're on holiday!

There are a number of lovely bloggers I'd love to meet up with... many of them way too far away from me for it to ever become a reality. It's nice to hear such a happy, friendly story!

Adore the cloche hat!

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time. I can only hope someday I'll meet blogging friends. I've met a few internet friends over the years from another blogging site I was on and it's always the best meeting someone you feel like you know everything about. So unusual but awesome!

All is okay in my world...things got a little heavy so I checked out for a bit, but I think I'll be back very soon. Just trying to balance it all. Needed a tiny break. I still have your gift and will be sending it soon. So be waiting!!!!! Thank you for checking up on me, it meant a lot.

:-) I love your posts! You always write such interesting things and you have FANTASTIC style. I'm going to attribute to the fact that you have a child and aren't 20 anymore (because that way maybe I could attribute the same things to myself! ha!). Plus you were probably just born cool and interesting.

I know the feeling, I love blog girls too. I just have to say that I think your sense of style is amazing. I would never think to wear things in the combinations you do, but when I see them on you I think "Hey, I have clothes like that, I should wear them like that!" You're such an inspiration!

I never thought you and Mel looked alike until I saw photos of you side by side! Truly, you could play sisters in a movie!

Your blog is one of my newer favorites. I love your style-- you put things together so well, and you're not a label slave. I really appreciate that because my budget doesn't allow me to get the latest and greatest looks fresh from the runway.

I've loved seeing everyone's posts from NYFW. It's exciting that everyone got to meet, and I hope to do the same in the fall!

Wonderful, wonderful outfits, as always. I so wish I could meet someone who I shared similiar fashion tastes with and could help me with my wardrobe. But your blog has definitely given me ideas so I'm happy. :) Also - can related to the hearing loss, although on a more severe level - have a profound hearing loss in both ears so communication can be quite an ordeal (doable but requires much engery!). Anneee-ways, keep it up and keep on shining! :)

You and Mel are adorable and my favorite two bloggers hands down! I'm so happy to hear you were able to spend time together! By the way you look amazing in all your photos from the week, you must teach my your ways of packing. I lug a massive suitecase with me on business trips and always look blah.

Howdy,
some advice needed:
I'm Looking to purchase TV Stands or TV Wall Units For a house I'mclosing on.
Can you peoplegive me a good recommendation of where is the leadingplace to buy these? I live in Alabama and I heard that the big thing about these tv stands is the cost of shipping and installation.
I also found this great article about wiring your entertainment center: http://www.helium.com/items/1577888-how-to-wire-your-home-entertainment-center

much appreciated
