consolation prizes

This outfit actually started with jean shorts, but I have had this sparkly skirt for a really long time now and just thought, screw it, Its party season, I am doing it.  I threw my furry suede coat over for warmth and couldn't feel happier.  I feel so boho rocker today.  Very happy.

These tights are my consolation prize after trekking out to "MY TARGET" (meaning out in the sticks Target) yesterday between visits with my grandma to try to get my hands on at least one piece of the Rodarte line.  Well, the highlight table in women's yesterday was $10 fleece. . . not even a hint of anything special. . .  except for these tights.   I am practicing the sour grapes routine, telling myself the stuff probably sucks anyway and everyone will be wearing it so why did I even care in the first place. . . but somehow, I know I am wrong.  This is my consolation outfit.  I can make my own things work just fine.  Silly Rodarte. . . sniff.

Eh, I can speak from experience. You get all excited about your new baby blue swiss dot dress, and come back to find that 89937 people have already blogged about it. it's almost sad. almost.

i think you won with those tights! i've never seen anything like them. so good!

I love the tights. And the skirt looks so cool, I never would have got the guts to buy something flashy like this. Wow!
Amazing outfit.

Those tights are fantastic! I was just at my local Target yesterday, and they didn't have anything as awesome as those.

My Target was wiped out too, those tights were a great snag though! I may or may not have left with a bag of popcorn to fill an empty spot in my heart. I have faith follow bloggers missed out as well or are already getting crafty and coming up with Rodarte inspired looks.

I can't believe you! I really can't believe, cause I've started just the same way to blogging! Then I've left the blog to her and started the chictopia! and cause I don't have much time+space to take good photos, and since I don't want anyone to know about it, i've just kept it with chictopia... I had started once but then I felt a bit guilty not to tell my friend cause she wanted me back to the blog but it was a bit complicated for me too...

I'm so glad to learn more about you. You don't look 30 by the way, you look nothing more than my age (26)...

I really adore your today's style even if it is consolation outfit :)You can use your floral dresses like this skirt, with a t-shirt and those lovely tights, which I'm sure will look great on you as well!

Optum!

You do look like a boho rocker! I can imagine you wearing it to Woodstock. I'm so sad we don't have Target in the UK - I've seen the Rodarte line on other blogs and it looks wonderful!

I forgot the name but that's what happened to me in the last big target line! I got myself PSYCHED and they didn't have it at either of the 2 Targets closest to me and the next closest one was 45 minutes away.. no thank you..

I'd say your consolation prize is BETTER than Rodarte because, as you said, no one else will have it! Such a fun party skirt!

omg, your skirt and tights are so awesome. like, i'm super jealous of you and your fashion courage. i worry too much about what people in my small town will think of me. all the moms here wear jeans and tshirts all the time and i just want to be me but i worry, you know. i need friends like you.

I love your outfit today. And I am so excited to head over and read your interview! I have been so distant from blogging lately! A few more days and all the craziness will start to settle down I guess. Anyways, beautiful as always darling!

I was bummed at my Target as well. They put the line out super early before most stores, but then quickly sold out of my size in the couple of items I really liked. Sad day.

Those tights have an incredible texture! I snagged a Rodarte for Target dress but I almost wish my Target had had those tights instead...
